1. Flash across the paint
1a. Back down into position
2. Keep faking different ways
I agree, because it is all about leverage if you want to be successful in the post

1. you can use vcut and a swim move.
or you can fake screen then spin to and post up.

2.face them up and jab step.

3.i dont agree with it because if your a guard, u cannot post up a center. the guard just doesnt not have the size to back down or go against the taller and (should be) stronger center. -clement zhang

1. Use the V-Cut to get into the low post or set a fake screen.

2. Drive into your opponent to see if he will play loose or tough and you can face him up instad of backing down and go for the pull up shot,

3.I feel that as long as you have the proper stranght and agility to get to the basket, thes size and physique don't really matter as much.

Two ways you can get into post position are using the 1)v-cut and swim move and 2)pretending to set a pick then spinning to the post.

You can give your opponent a different look in the post by reading his defense after contact (whether he is playing loose or tight) and then deciding from a plethora of moves including driving, hook shots or jump shots.By alternating which hand you use and the way you attack the basket you show the defender a variety of moves.

Although size and physique aid in posting up by creating separation from you shot and defenders, ultimately I agree with Boozer that skills and good footwork can compensate for a smaller physique by creating enough separation for a quality shot.

1. 2 ways to get positioned in the post is to use the v-cut and spin move to fake out your opponent.

2. You can give your opponent a different look in the post by passing out of the paint or driving the ball.

3. I agree that you might not have to look or be as muscular as low post players usually are but you do have to have some size referring to height and arms.

1. You could use the V-cut or you could set a fake pick and run towards
the basket.

2. You could fake it in different position to get the defender kind of distracted so you can get a more effect shot.

3. I think it kind of goes both ways, because the bigger you are the more likely you are to block shots or make it more difficult for the person trying to shot. But again if you are smaller, it is most probable that you are quicker so you could beat the defender to the basket.

one way to get into the post is to do a v-cut down to the block, and then use a swim move to get your body in front of the defender. Another way is you can fake the screen, then spin around the defender to get to the low block. A way to give your opponent different looks is instead of backing down on him, you could face up on him. You could then from there drive to the basket, or take the jumpshot. I agree, because all you have to do is find an open space from where the defender is guarding you, and if you can do that, you can easily score, and you dont need to be big to do that.

1. 2 ways you can get into postition in the post: 1) Make a V-cut and a swing move to get position 2)Pretend to set a pick and then make a spin move into high/low post

2.You can give your opponent many different looks in the post. You can either be high or low post. You can also use judgement to see if the defender isplaying you very loose or very tight. Depending on whether the defender is playing you to one side or another you can choose to go the oppisite way and use moves towards the basket like, hook shots, initiating contact and backing down, and alternating hands depending on how the defender is playing you

3. Yes, I agree with Carlos Boozer because you really dont have to have a certain build or physique getting position in the post. You can be big or small (heightwise) but the most important thing is to create space by being physial and using footwork even if youhave size against you.

3.i agree with him because it is all about how smart you are and if you have skills.

1. One way to get into the post is to attempt a V-cut and the second way to get in the post is to fake a screen and go right into the post.

2. You can give your defender a different look by using the jabstep to get to the basket or you can backdown your defender to see if he plays you weak or tough.

3. I agree that it doesn't matter what your size is to get in the post im a really small guy and i can backdown a defender that's 2-3feet taller then me so i Strongly agree with Carlos Boozer.

1. 2 ways to gain position in the post is by v-cutting then establishing your feet and fake screen then diving towards the basket.

2. You can give your opponent a different look by facing the basket after the ball is caught.

3. i dont necesarilly agree with carlos boozer when he says that you dont have to be big in the post because if your small you will not be able to back down another defender and there is a higher chance of you getting blocked.

1. You can flash away from the ball and make a V-cut towards the Low Post or the High Post. You can also fake a screen then spin towards the ball ,isolating your defender away from the ball.

2. You can post-up and back the defender down, or you can face the defender up so that you are facing the basket. This allows a variety of moves to be done from the post.

3. I do agree with Boozer's statement because smaller players can be successful in the post position as well just from being skilled and applying the correct fakes.

well he does alot of things to get to the post. her uses the v cut and a pick and roll really gets a player open. also to get the d out of your face you can jab step or fake high and go low. i dont not agree to play the post you have to be substantially taller than the rest of the team or else whenever the ball is thrown to you it will be stolen by the bigger player.

2. You can face your opponent and give him a jab step or shoot the J
3. I think size does have an effect because for me, it is hard to defend player that are really tall or fat

1. Two ways to get position in the post are by using the spin move or the v-cut.

2. You can trick the opponent by using the jab step and faking going in for a layup.

3. I agree because if you can read the opponents defense then you can still be able to trick them and shoot open.

1.fake awat to a v-cut then a swim move to post, or fake a screen then a spin move to the post.

2. face them up then jab step, if the play loose drive or shoot but if they play tough then play physical too.

3. NO, becuase you dont need to be big and bulky to be good in post to me its all about your skills and how you can move into the post to trick the other defender to get yourself time to get to the hoop and make that shot, layup , or dunk

1. You can either "v" cut to get position, or you can fake a screen and roll into the post.

2. You can give a different look by faking or by swinging around and face your opponent to do a different variety of moves.

3. Yes I do agree because post play is mostly outsmarting your oppenent and being smaller and agile can really help in this area.

3. I agree that size does not matter when posting up. A small guard can easily get past a big defender by using the right moves. However, size does help a lot in certain situations.

1.There are multiple ways to get position in the post. Two ways are to use the v-cut and to flash across the front of your opponent in the paint.
2.You could fake the ball high, power dribble, and try to get across the front of the basket for a shot
3. I do not think it is true because if a point guard is a lot smaller than a center he will not be able to post up on someone twice his size.

1. Fake Up and jabstep
2. V cut into the post
3. I do not agree with this because when I play people who are tall it is difficult for me to not get blocked or also they steal the ball from me.

1.v cut and swim
screen then spin to the post
2.drive and see how loose the defender plays
3.i don't agree because many times a shorter player will not post up a big center to score.

Anonymous said...

1) You can make of V-cut or a swing move.
2)Depending on which side your opponent is on, you can dribble in opposite direction and use alternating hands, then hook the shot.
3)I agree, that in basketball, size does not predetermine ability. While it is a contributing factor to performance, it is not everything. The good footwork, skillful shooting, smart steals, and fast pace of a small player beat the lacking skill of a large player any day.

1. Cut into the paint, square up and get into position for the pass

2.Fake in a variety of ways, but effectively use the V-cut

3. If you have the strength and ability to get to the basket, then size isnt much of a big factor in your low post play

1) you can use the v-cut or you can set a fake screen and spin around to the post
2) you can play in either the high post where you have space to make multiple moves or you can play in the low post where you have to be physical and make quick, effective moves to score. Your opponent will be faked out with the multiple moves you can perform in the paint and you will be able to score easily
3) I agree with Carlos Boozer because playing in the post depends on skill and aggressiveness rather than size and strength. An effective post player must have good footwork in order to score and contribute to their team
