Perod 3- Advanced Basketball

Due Date: Thursday, October 13th

We are currently in our 2 on 2 unit. At the beginning of this unit we spent several days working on post moves and focusing on a post-wing game. Based on what you have learned, how is your team's post game during game play? Do you think this is affecting your win/loss record? Why?

my teams post game is good. The drop-step helps my team during my games, this is what gives my team the easy lay-ups so we score ever time we go down the court.

I think our team's post game play during the game is good but not necessary. I say this because my team mate and I mostly focus on our outside game because that is where we score the most points. Our post game can work when we choose to make it work.

While the occasional post move is helpful, our 2v2 team does not use it much because we are a relatively small team. It is more effective when we get the ball in the post and then kick it back out for a three. It doesn't have a big impact on our record because most of our points come from outside shots.

My team uses post play very often. Since Jack is taller than most kids in the class he uses post moves very often to score. For example, he uses the up and under when he is near the hoop. I also feed him the ball in the paint alot and then wait for the defense to shift to him and then he pass's back and i knock down the open 3 or long 2.

During the 2 on 2 games, my team has executed some post moves and post-wing game play but it is very ineffective because neither my teammate nor I are big men. Most of the players in the class are big but some are small, we have preformed the moves on the smaller players and made shots from that. My team is a shooting team so the win/loss record has no correlation between our post moves.

My team has no post game we just cut and pass and shoot 3s. we make all our 3s.

Although my teammate is one of the taller kids in the class, we don't use the post game often. He usually likes to pop the three, and I sometimes like to drive. I think this could affect our wins/loss record because the post game could come to our advantage.

Our team doesnt really have a post game and we just shoot 3's. I think we should start using a post game to win more games. I do think our lack of post game is affecting our record because we dont get any layups

Post game on my team is essential. Although we take a good amount of deeper shots, we still use the post game when we need to seal a victory by getting easy, close range buckets. Since i am the taller player on my team, i am fed the ball in the post and either score using a shoulder fake or if i get doubled in the post, i kick it back out to my teammate who makes the open 3. It definitely correlates to our record because we use it when we are already leading and want to get easy points instead of potentially wasting a possession by just throwing up a deep shot.

my teams post game is very effective when we are in control of tempo.
i feel that since me and Zach both use the post occasionally it sets each of us to be open for one another.I feel that it helps that both a forward/center and guard should be able to go to the post based on height and opportunity.
zach shows heart by going to the post alot and hes a good teamate..

My teams post game is alright but isn't our main tactic as we mainly focus on the outside game. We are focusing more on the outside because we score more points that way. My team focusing more on the outside game is affecting our win/loss record positively because we are scoring more and then in turn winning more.

I think our post moves are very important to the way my team plays. Justin quam is very tall so he is on the post scoring alot soitis crucial to have him be good at the post moves. This has a big impact on our record because the more we score the more we win.

My team does not really use the post game because Kyle likes to shoot 3s and I am not very big. Using the post game would probably help my team because it would create opportunities for layups and open shots.

my teams post game would be good but we usually drive and get layups off that or from put backs.
occasionally we make a few 3's.
a lot of times we use post moves like spins at the end of the drive but if we used more post moves i think we would have a better record. Post moves are more affective then jacking up 3's and getting the rebound and putting it back up for a layup.

Kyle Weissenburger,

My teams post game is solid. We have great Wing movement and back-door cuts to the basket to get easy finishes at the basket. Also, whenever I receive the ball in the post it's an automatic bucket. Our win loss record isn't as good as it could be because we take a lot of outside shots, and sometimes our shots just aren't hitting.

Me and my teammate have tried some post moves, but they have mostly not worked, neither of us are big men, so we score our points by shooting from the outside and attacking the basket using dribble moves, our win/loss record is unaffected by our post moves because we don't really use them.

No not really. We don't have a post game, we just shoot and cut to the basket...and that's what has won all of our games.

My teams post game is good during game play although we don't use it very often. Usually I am at the low post and have the ball passed to me and as the defense shifts to guard me, Arjun becomes open so I kick it back to him so that he can knock down a 3 point shot. We prefer using this strategy since he has a good shot and we get more points quicker this way.

While our team uses the occasional post move, most of our points have come from jumpshots, mainly 3 pointers. This has been effective for us, which shows in our record. I think that we should start using more post moves because it would help us win games more easily.

my team could have a post game but instead we usually just drive and sometimes dish. i think if we used post moves more we would have a better record.

My team's post game isn't really utilized during the games. Varun and I shoot three's for the majority of the game. I think it would be easier to win games if we use post moves rather than shoot threes.

Since I'm one of the taller kids in the class, the post is usually open, Spitz will often feed it in to me to take a shot, or sometimes I pass it back out to him for the 3

Truth is, we have absolutly no post game. haha. we get the occasional layup here and there but otherwise there is nothing there. My team of spielman and I is strictly an outside shot team. We get soooo many points shooting the 2's and not the 1's. It effects our record in a positive way because it works and we score a lot of points.
