Period 1 - Basketball

Due Date: Thursday, October 13th

We are currently in our 2 on 2 unit. At the beginning of this unit we spent several days working on post moves and focusing on a post-wing game. Based on what you have learned, how is your team's post game during game play? Do you think this is affecting your win/loss record? Why?

Our teams post game is ok. My team is rather short so against taller teams we focus more on the pick and roll or isolation than post moves. When we do play smaller teams we take advantage down low and it does show most the time in the score. It gives is much closer and easier shots to make and therefore we win more.

Post moves are awesome. It works expecially well on people who are about the same height and people who don't move very fast. It affects the points. It is good if the team has good teamwork and it keeps the ball out of the other teams hands.

My team's post move game is ok, but it could get much better. I feel that it is affecting our win/loss ratio because if we used post moves more often, we would be able to evade defenders better and score more baskets.

My teams post play during the game is average, my partner usually does most of the post moves.I think that if i used more post game during the game we would have more wins because we miss out outside shots often.

Our teams moves are good and effective during gameplay.Gameplay is better now and giving my team more wins because it is easier to make a basket when using these moves because it is easier to get past the defensive player that is garding me.

Our post play is not very effective and we rarely do post moves. The majority of our offense is layups from give and gos and backdoor cuts. Our win/loss record is average, but if we developed a post game then we could probably improve our record to mostly wins and few losses. when defenses begin to recognize that we have a post game and start guarding against it, giving us even more open shots from outside.

I think my team post move during the game is getting way better than it was before and theink its helping our wins becuase it give us the points that we need to win.james rowe lol

I believe that what we leant was very important because my team's play game is great. We still make some mistakes but we have improved our coordination and attack system by passing the the ball to each other, and tripling in a try to pass the ball in the defensive zone. This tactic has extremely affected our score because we are capable to win with a high score .

The post move definitely helps, but we don't use it often. During 2v2 every player on the court will have too much space to run around, it would be more efficient to have more players in the game while practicing this. Because every time we try to post up, most of the time will draw defenders to play 2 on 1, which we have to give back the ball. and our team is not a team with good long range shooter.

My teams post game is alright. it works fine either tall or short and usually has a positive outcome on the game.it does affect our win/loss ratio for the better.we re usuing skills to attack and not just random gameplay.

our teams post game is great. my team works good when we play a good team if were down by a couple point it gets us more energized so we can past quicker and move faster.

Our post moves does not work in the games because the point gaurd( my parner) cant get the ball to me in the low post. This is affecting our winning record because this allows me to to play any position i wish.

During the game play, my team's post moves are not very efficient. Although the ball is successfully passed to the other teammate, generally no point is scored because we miss too often. If the accuracy problem is improved upon, then I think post-moves would make a greater positive impact on our win/lose record. As of now, the post-moves are not affecting our win/lose ratio positively because we generally end up taking jumpshots and missing

my teams post moves are good, we take advantage of shorter opponets and go for the easy shot using the post move, honestly i do not think it will affect our win and loss ratio because my team mate and i focus more on open 3's and driving layups.

I belive that post moves would deffinitly increase our amount of wins. Right now we are focusing more on outside shots instead of attacking the basket. My team should try to use more post moves and also pass more.

I feel that our post game is ok. We use our post game at times, but since we are usually shorter than the other team we don't really use it often, and use cuts and dribble moves more. I feel that it it is affecting our win/loss record because if we could use it more often, we could score more points and win more games.

My team post game is not very good because we usually try to make three pointers or jump shots when we’re playing instead of focusing on post moves. We could definitely improve our post game by using post moves more often and that would help us win more games and loss less because we would be able to get away from the defense and make more shots.

My partner and I really don't like post moves. The main thing we do is spread the court out. we would try to cut and get good passes in the lanes. I dont think the post offense is causing our team to win or lose

The post play on my team is almost non exsistent. We bareley ever use post moves which is why i think our win/loss record is not very good. We are going to work on it to hopefully improve our record.

our team doesn't use post moves that much during the games. since we only won twice it might be affecting our record by not using it.

My partner and I are doing generally well with our post movement, and we are both playing about the same amount of time in the post. We do many 'one-two' passes down low and this has helped us score easy points, which reflects upon our record.

My teams post game is okay . we actually do better with mid range shots and lay ups rather than postin up.i think it took a couple of games for us to play well together and now we r in the groove and doin well

Post movement seems to be somewhat helpful during gameplay. Passing is more of focus right now, due to most opponents having a weak pass defense. The few times I have used post moves (in specific situations) have usually put me up for an easy shot. In terms of wins/losses, our wins would probably go up if our team used them more.

Because both of our styles revolves around shooting and occasionally driving, we are not as tall as other players and tend to lack physical body. It is definitely affecting our record as when we play fellow classmates, they know whether we are good at shooting or rebounding and they play to our weakness, forcing us to shoot difficult jumpers. Whenever we try to lay up, we sometimes get blocked.

My teams post game is bad. We just run around trying to get open. That's a shame because if you are really a good post player you can score a lot with post moves. If we use post moves I think our record would be a lot better. So I think I will start using them.

I think our post moves are ok. We don't use them that often though which might be negatively affecting our win/loss record. We could probably improve our record by using more post moves.

My tea has little to no post game. This is reflected in our record, our inablity to score quickly, and play defense agianst the drive. We are taking harder shots than we need to rather than easier shots in the post.

Anonymous said...

my team's post game was very effective because we use many wal passes to confuse the oponent and go undedr the basket as quick as possible. we also focus on running the oponent so that we can make him tired and unfocus on guarding us.

our post moves is a key part to our game. we do a lot of work inside the paint.
