Period 7 Advanced Basketball

1. anticipating the pass is very important... its important because if you do not anticipate the pass you will be late starting your post.
2. You should make contact by using the forearm wall. it should be nice and stirdy
3. Pivot to inhibit basically is sealing the defender so he cant over top of you.
4. It is important to chin the ball in the post so nobody can knock the ball out of your hand.
5. Position for possesion means when the ball is thrown you release from your defender and get the ball

1) It is important to anticipate the pass because it provides you with an easy post up score and provides an outlet for whoever is passing you the ball in the future.
2) It is important to make contact with the defender because it provides you with to easily seal your defender and give you space.
3) Pivoting to inhibit means that you have made contact, pivoted, and succesfully sealed your defender.
4) It's important to chin the ball because your more likely to keep the ball from being swatted out of your hands by the perimeter player or your defender.
5) Postion for possesion means that you move to the ball, when passed, seperating yourself from your defender.

1. Anticipating the pass is a key factor in a good play, cause if you don't you could be falling behind on the play which could cause your team an easy basket.
2. When making contact with the defender, it allows you to make some space, and kind of get a read on the defender.
3. Pivot to inhabit is mostly making sure the defender can't reach the ball easily, it makes it a challenge.
4. It is a essential key to chin the ball: It allows you to have a good control over it so no one can take it out and steal it.
5. The term "Position for possession" is that as soon as the ball is released and headed your way, you suddenly create space between you and the defender and you go for the ball, hopefully leaving your man in the dust.

1. It is important to anticipate the pass in order to establish a ready position in the post.

2. You should make contact in the post by exploding and going low to establsih dominance and position against weaker opponenents.

3.To pivot to inhibit is to successfully seal your defender and create space.

4. It is important to "chin" the ball in the post to have a firm grip of the ball and to avoid the ball getting picked off by the defender.

5. Position for possesion is getting into the best position for receiving the bounce pass or lobbed pass in the post.

2. You should make contact by using your forearm making sure it is good solid contact and stirdy to seal your opponent and keep them from being too close too you.
3. Pivoting to inhibit means pivoting to seal your defender, so he can't stand over you, and you can have a clearer path to the basket.
4. It is important to chin the ball in the post to make it hard for a defender to knock it out of your hands.
5. Position for possession means that it is important to get postion on your defender, find the ball, and release from your defender, so you can get the ball and have possession. Getting good position is important for all of this.

1. So you can get in position to make a clean catch. By doing so you can go up for the easy score
2. You should make contact with your forearm, make stable contact.
3. Pivot so you can seal off your defender and create an easy lane to the basket
4. So you can protect the ball and prevent a defender from slapping or stealing the ball away
5. You want to get position so you can easily escape your defender and get the ball from your teammate all while keeping possession of the ball
