1.) Because anticipating a pass could lead to a steal, or if your not following the ball and where it could go, you will lose your man for the score.
2.) Back them up with your body making contact with their back. Do not put pressure with your hands on their back.
3.) When you use your pivot foot to wrap leg around defensive player to get position for score. This gets them out of position.
4.) To make sure the ball is tight and in your grasp so no one has a chance to knock at the ball.
5.) meaning the better position your in to score, the more likely you will have the ball.

1.) Anticipating the pass could result in a turn over of possesion (a steal) which is essential to winning a game.

2.) You don't want to use to much force to where they fall, because that's a foul. So what you want to do is find a nice low stance and keep your core tight and your hands away from their arms so you don't foul them.

3.) This is the same thing as sealing the defender. It closes them out and gives you (the attacker) a clean shot at the basket.

4.) It keeps the ball away from the defender so they don't steal it. It also puts pressure on the ball so a defender can't easily hit it out.

5.) It's making the effort to get into position to recieve the ball.

1. It is important to anticipate the pass because that is when you begin to seal your defender so that you are prepared for the pass.
2. Make contact with the forearm wall. The forearm wall is where you bend (do not extend) your arm and your opponent runs into your forearm.
3. Pivot to inhibit means to seal your man so he can't move around you to reach the ball. This is done by throwing your butt into their knees.
4. Chinning the ball is important so that the ball can't be knocked out of your hands.
5. Position for possession means to give up some of your position in the post so that you can gain possession of the ball.

1. So you can seal off your man well before you have to catch the ball and it lowers the chances of a steal.

2. You should use a forearm wall by creating an obstacle for your defender to hit instead of actually extending your arm and hitting them, which could be called as a foul.

3. You use your foot through pivoting to block off the defender and "inhibit" them from moving.

4. Chinning the ball helps prevent the defender from knocking the ball away from you.

5. It means that you should stop defending the guy and meet the ball while it's coming toward you.
