Period 1 General PE
Due Date: Wednesday, May 16th
We are in the process of getting comfortable with our teams and making plays. We are trying to avoid the "just go out" situation that most P.E. football games deterioate into. How can we avoid this? Post you comments
By assigning each of our temates a position, and going over a specific and unique play before snapping the ball. Also, all team mates must know what they are doing for this to work.
Erica Slater- Within our teams we can come up with our own plays. If we make up plays then the other team will not know what we are doing such as snake eyes or running or small passes up to get up the field. Yes, we do have positions but not many people pay entire attention to them so learning about our positions more would help so we know whar our exact purpose is on the field
Will Strasser We can avoid this style of play by calling plays at the beginning of plays. Also, we can explain that it is better to do that and it gives us a better chance of winning.
My teammates and me avoid the "just go out" situation by passing the ball to a nearest teammate and then that teammate tries to run into the opponents goal without getting tagged by any opponent. We have also tried the strategy of throwing the ball to a teammate who is closest to the opponents goal and then that person tries to run into the opponents goal without getting tagged.
Usually instead of all out, you could have people running to the goal and just catching or pass it without throwing it way too far at least a couple times for a better chance of not dropping the football. (I'm not totally sure.. just some ideas though) --Irene S
My team could avoid this by planning out more plays. As the QB i could tell the receivers to run routes and make sure they know what they are doing. Also, we could run the ball some more. -Conrad Hong
We can avoid this by thinking about what we are doing in gym and what we really have to focus on. most people forget that gym is a grade too and they think that they don't have to try. they have to realize that if they don't do what they are supposed to do, their grades will trip.
Jasmine Dassu By letting everyone on the team know which play we are going to use and by making sure that everyone knows which position they are and who they are going to guard when on defense.
A good option would be to come up with plays beforehand. Another good idea would be to have more short passes instead of the QB just throwing the ball to the endzone and hoping someone catches it.
We can avoid this by creating our own plays so that we can have structured plans of what to do and so we aren't just going out like in most P.E. classes. Ethan Granetz
Tyler Thomas-Fenderson We can avoid the just go out situation by going over the plays before the ball is snapped. Also you can try to formulate a "secret" play that everyone is good at and gets the most.
I think Seena is right. If we try plays over again and practice them a lot, our game will improve. Everyone should be trying their best. Pretend it's a game being played for a big reward or something. Real football teams come up with plays they think will work and they practice them until they drop. Sean

I think we should try to force people who do not participate at all so that it will be easy to coordinate plays.

we can get 5 mins before each game to work on plays with our team

We can avoid this if we are given more motivation to play. Most of the students prefer to have something to play for.

-We can avoid this by having the quarter back say the play to your team before running out that way everyone knows what to do.

We can avoid this by changing up the plays, we can do short passes, long passes,or hand-offs to runners.

We can make plays up before the game.

we could just go straight and cut to the right or to the left in order to get oped. We could also have specific plays for each situation

We can avoid this by letting loose a little and making the teams more fun.

We can all avoid this by creating our own plays. That way we could all know what to do when we say like a certain number such as, "run play 4."
we can learn the rules before playing

We can avoid going outside by listening to the teacher instead of goofing off.
I think a good way to get our attention while playing is to create some unified plays, and embrace a position to play.
-Dimitri Pappas
We can aviod this attitude by doing what we are supposed to do and excersise and do work. But if we dont then we should have to run.
Tyler Thomas-Fenderson

Before the games, we can discuss the plays and practice more with our teams
Logan Harding
To avoid this my team can go over plays and use them
We can avoid this situation by practicing specific plays so that we are more prepared in our games.
Make sure we have plays that everybody participates in and have people actually pass instead of hogging the ball all the time
Kevin Zhu
We avoid this by practicing plays beforehand and having team huddles before games.
we should get time with our teams before class to work on plays.
