1.)Basketball started in Springfield, Massachusetts. It was invented by a Canadian named James Naismith.

2.)3 seconds

3.)5 players

4.)A position angled towards the hoop..

5.)The jab step-performed when a player holds onto the ball before dribbling while his non-pivot leg performs a routine jabbing. This move is used to try and make the defender commit to the move.
You would use this move to get past a defender for a lay up or jump shot.

The drop step- is a move in which the player posting up takes a back step on the side of a defender behind him.

You would use this move to get an open jump shot.

1. James Naismith invented the game of basketball in 1891 in Springfield, Mass.

2. 3 seconds

3. Five people

4. Triple threat position

5. A lay up would be used when you have an open shot. A lay up is when you dribble the ball up to the basket, and shoot as soon as you get as close as possible, and you shoot while still running. if your going up on the left side, go of your right foot, if on the right side, your left foot. Another move is the triple threat position. this is mainly used when an offensive player first recieves the ball. This position gives the player the ability to either shoot, pass, or dribble.

2. As long as he or she wants too, there is no defensive three seconds in high school, but in general you are allowed to be in the paint without guarding anyone for three seconds.
3. there are 10 people on the court in a regulation game
4. triple threat
5. two moves we used in class are the jab step and step back. The jab step is a quick movement towards your defender without moving your pivit foot. I would use it to separate from my defender to hit my jumpshot. The step back is a drive towards the basket and then a movement backwards to keep your defender off balance. I would use it to be able to create space to make an open jumper
