Period 1 Advanced Basketball

Due Date: Thursday, March 10th

Please make sure to put your first and last name on your blog.

We are currently in our 2 on 2 unit. At the beginning of this unit we spent several days working on post moves and focusing on a post-wing game. Based on what you have learned, how is your team's post game during game play? Do you think this is affecting your win/loss record? Why?

Based on my earlier days i was always a big man so i had alot of practice on post moves. Me and varun switch off in the post because we are both big. This helps us win because not every other team has to big men that can also play like a 2 or 3.

I dont think post moves really effect my teams win/lost because we mostly just shoot or drive it in.

My team's post game is unstoppable because when Bianca feeds me the ball in the paint its an automatic two points. Bianca also has good post game. Our post game helps us win games because when the ball is in the paint it can also be kicked out to the wing for a three pointer.

Me and Greg get the Dank sauce in the paint run our post moves and run shit. We always try to post it up but if that doesn't work then we J it up. This affects out game play because it determines if we make baskets

We have no post game. We are both playing point guard and are making our own plays. I think this is affecting our wins because we are not the biggest in the class so its easier to stay away from post moves and drive it in.

post play is very important to gameplay it spreads the defense and helps the man posting a move such as the drop step\

For my two on two team we have a strong post game which helps us win because when our shots from the outside don't fall, usually lay-ups and other post moves help us to score

Our teams post game is really good. Willis is a really good post player. I pass to him when he is in the paint and we always make a shot. I also post up to make a shot; sometimes it does not work but then me or Willis gets the rebound and makes a 3 pointer. We are a good team and our post game definatly is a great factor in that.

my partner and I aren't really big players so we don't use the post move that often.
I don't feel that it's affecting us because we are both great shooters and we can usually make our shots.
my partner might use it once a game average but i never use it

I believe that post moves do work, however since I'm not on a permanent team...I don't really knnow how it would affect our play, but based on today's game..i believe it didn't help a lot because we mostly drove it in or took a lot of shots

My teams post game is pretty good. Yes i think it is affecting our win/loss record. Being able to post up leaves your teamate for open shots which is why we never lose.

Usually a post up move is used by a big man and im not that big so me and my partner just do a give and go in the paint. The post up move doesn't really effect me and my partner's winning/losing record we just shoot or drive a lot

My team posts, I feed the ball to Nicola and he shoots. Post game helps our offensive attacks in our games. It also helps us get open for an easy drive to the basket and gets the defenders confused

Our post game is pretty good, but we mostly shoot outside shots. Even though I am usually a post player, Kyle is bigger so he posts up more often and I feed him the ball. If the two defenders collapse before he can shoot, he kicks it out to me and I am open for an outside shot. Getting wide open shots helps us win, and post moves allows us to get an open shot off or score an easy bucket off the move, so they do help.

I think me and miles's post game is pretty good. Miles is big so he stays down low and i can feed him the ball but sometimes we rely on the outside shot a lot and we dont get it inside. I dont think this is affecting our win/loss column because i think what we do best is shoot the ball so i dont think our post game is affecting that

Post moves don't really effect my team because we are both outside players who like to shoot. We feel it is much easier to score our points on an open shot than a contested shot in the block.

I think we should post up more since posting up is the most consistent offense in basketball. It makes the defense collapse and you can make multiple moves from the post to help your team. It is also more reliable than jump shooting.
