Due Date: Tuesday, February 22nd
We are currently in our basketball 3 on 3 unit. Based on your own basketball experiences, as well as what you have learned so far in class, what are three strengths that your 3 on 3 team must possess to be successful? Why?

Our strengths are that we pass the ball, take many lay-ups, and get open on the court alot

My basketball team must be able to get open and pass/receive. In order to do this, we have to cut the opposite team.
Also we have to be good at scoring, which means we need more practice.
Also, we need to run in order to get open.Running will lose the opponents.

The three strengths that I think our three on three team must have in order to be successful is blocking, communication, and by not being a ball hogger.
These are important in being successful because blocking will help your team to get the ball from the other opponent so you can score. Communication is important because it can encourage your team to do well. There can also be silent communication, which can involve hands, feet, and most importantly eyes. This can tell your teammate to be aware cause they might pass you the ball. But most importantly not being a ball hogger helps because everyone is involved in the game. Not just one or two people, everyone must work together to get points. Nobody wants to just stand there watching everyone else play. Also, passing the ball. So many people think they can score without their teammates help. And that's just plain dumb. The point of playing basketball is to pass to your teammates and work together to earn points. Involve everyone.

1. They need to make good passes so the other team doesn't get the ball
2. Cut through so that they can get a good pass
3. They need to block to stop the other team from shooting and passing the ball
3 strengths required to be successful on your team is:
1) Teamwork and the ability to pass to your teammates.
2) shooting skills
3) ball handling

1. Communication-to know where the ball should go next to be successful
2. Defense-to be successful, each player on a team must guard one on the opponent's team
3. Offense-ok to be a little aggressive every now and then
My team has to:
~shoot from their best aim point
~bounce pass the ball to other team members, preferably near the basket and away from the opposing team members
~participate, try and stay alert
In my opinion, these skills and tactics propose a way to win the game, if played well.

My professional opinion here is that teamwork is essential. You don't want one guy running around trying to make shots not passing to anyone and failing. Everyone has strengths. When you combine them...that's some insane basketball. ALSO. I think. That everyone needs to chill out and not be as VIOLENT. If you chill out, your stamina doesn't have a heart-attack mid-game. As for the third...you honestly, are going to need good hand-eye coordination. Moving the ball away from crazy lunatics takes some level of skill. And practice makes perfect~

3 skills my team must possess to be succssful are the ablitility to pass, playing hard defense, and controling the ball. You shoul be able to pass becasue you want to be able to give up your good shot for a great shot. Also, defense is very important because if you can't score you can't win. Finally, If we can handle the ball and not turn it over, we'll be a great team!
Matthew Remson
We must be able to communicate, pass and make baskets
My 3 on 3 team needs to be good at passing, defence, and layups. Because if you are good at passing you can get to the basket quicker without the ball being stolen. If you are good at defence the other team won't be able to score. If you are good at layups you can get easy points and beat the other team.

you have to pass and be a team player insted of trying to play by yourself

A good team must have a good defense, a good teamplay and passing skills and they must be able to shoot efficiently.
William He
The team must pass the ball to the open man, must defense the man who you are responsible for.Futhermore, you need to take care of the rebounds.
---Yang Zhai
3 strengths they must possess is the ability to move, catch the ball, and defend the ball from the hoop.
-George Lee
In class I have learned that it is important to rely on your team members to keep trying to get free and be able to pass the ball to them. I have also learned that is bad to double dribble.
3 strengths my team must possess to be successful would be
-reliance on each other
-perseverance
-endurance
Inga Bragadottir Pd. 2
there most be constant movement
we cant just stand there waiting for the ball we gotta get open to make a pass
we hafta get rebounds cause thats one of the main ways the ball is turned over in these games
we gotta always e covering someone because that way we can gain possession again and stop the other team from scoring
Foster Ting
1. we have to move without the ball

I think that the three strengths that my team should have to be successful it could be:
1- work team, because we have to be together as a team and play as one to have a great game.
2- practice, because the practice makes the excellence.
3- and have a good relationship with all the players, because to make a good work team we need a great relationship with all the players.

Our three stengths are shooting, making lay-ups and dribbling.
Our weaknesses are getting open, passing, and overall teamwork.
Aditya Mokkarala
Stealing and aiming are the two most important things in basketball that our team does to be successful.
My basketball is able to get open and pass/receive the ball.
In order to achieve this, my team has to get open and run around. Our team is good at running to get open.
Running keeps from getting the ball stolen and it may open a chance for an easy shot. Our team is pretty good at shooting but we need practice.
Better aim = more points
Abhishek Tennarangam
the three strengths that my three on three team that we possess are communication so we know which person we should pass it to, positive mood so we show good sportsmanship, and layups because they are easy to score.:)
jessica rao:)
lots of passing, so the defense has to work harder to get the ball, spread out so only one person cannot guard two people, and staying on your player when on defense, so they do not have the chance to shoot the ball

From what I have experienced as well as what I have learned in class, three strengths necessary for success in 3v3 basketball is skill at lay-ups, skill at closing the distance between the three point line and the hoop with little opposition, and the ability to cut past their defender to get open.
These 3 skills are necessary because lay-ups are the fastest, easiest points to make and are definitely the most effective. However, one cannot make a lay up unless they can close the distance quickly and effectively. Also, in case you are stuck or the defense is good, you must be able to cut past your defender in order to be available, or open, so that the one in current possession of the ball is able to pass it to you in case he/she gets stuck.
DENNIS MUEMA
I think that to be successful we first need teamwork. this includes passing to each other to get the ball to the basket.
we also need coordination. Passing well at the right time to an open player. And also giving good fast passes.
The team also needs good dribbling and shooting skills, and also speed and the ability to loose markers.
Hello, Im adding this comment as my last one wouldnt receive full credit...
- The 3 are defending the ball from going inside the hoop, shooting the ball, and getting the rebound. For defending the ball, you must make sure that the ball does not get near the other player of the team that is close to the hoop, if it does, they would shoot the ball, and most likely make it. Another, the shooting the ball from a reasonable distance is also necessary to make sure you get the ball in. The rebound is the same, as your team or the opposing team should get the rebound as it bounces off the hoop area. This is crucial as it needs to be protected from the other team that seeks the second chance to get the ball.
--George Lee
passing the ball, blocking the ball when they try to make a shot, and also Defense.

Our strengths are we communicate well, set up for shots, and play defense well. our weekness's are shooting to many 3's and driving to the net. we need to work on. my team has to work on their weaknesses and improve their strengs to become a better team.
