Period 6- General PE

Due Date: October 6th

Based on your last week of fielding and striking what position do you feel you performed best at and why? Which position was most challenging for you? Why? What physical attributes do you possess that make you best at the position you chose?

I sucked at every single one of the positions that I played. Because I only played at one position I can't say which position is hardest. I don't really have any physical attributes that make me good at my position.

I feel that I am best in outfield, where most of the throwing and catching takes place. I did well at second base, where I either caught the ball or tagged someone out at least once a game. You have to predict the path of the ball and move accordingly to catch it. I was terrible at batting as I'm inexperienced and don't have much physical strength.

I feel that I played best at third base because I am able to catch the ball when it is throw to me to get a person out. The most challenging position for me is outfielder because I sometimes might drop an easy catch from a pop fly. I am good at third base because I wont miss a catch when a teammate throws the ball to me to get a runner out.

I feel like a preform best as third basemen, because you rarely have to catch the ball or throw it. This is because I hadn't caught one single ball when i was outfield. I believe the most challenging position for me would be an outfielder, because I am horrible at catching balls. My bad eye coordination would be best at the position I chose because any other place would be bad for me because I am bad at catching balls.

Based on last week's worth of fielding and striking, I feel as if though I am "destined" to be in outfield. I have played softball, kickball, baseball, wiffleball, spaldeen (like softball, except with a rubber ball a little less than the size of a tennis ball) and some other sports that I can not think of at the moment. Anyways, I play softball the most, and I love the outfield. I personally hate grounders, and can't stand being in the infield where most of the grounders get hit. I excel though at catching all those pop flies, as was not so well during kickball, but was extremely well demonstrated in the Monday softball game. I prefer left field more than the other positions, because naturally, right handed people tend to hit the ball more often than not to left field than center and right.
I personally think that right field would be the most challenging. You might ask, "Why then, are you so un-challenged at playing left-field?" Well, my answer is thus: I don't get to do much there. Seriously, the other positions get the ball some of the time, while for some strange reason, (at least in my experience) the ball has reached me in right field only once or twice. Also, because of the "not doing much", I have to watch as others get the ball, mess up (start laughing)(jk =]) or catch it (become jealous)(again, jk =]). And I may even have to endure painstaking minutes just standing there swatting at gnats while the rest of the team takes those painstaking minutes (which feel like hours) to get a measly 3 outs. The position I chose (left field) is great for me, because of the range of where the ball could be hit. I can sprint pretty fast (when I want too), and know how to play softball, which helps a lot when pelting full speed towards the fence for a deeply belted ball. Also, I have extremely good hand-eye-coordination, so I am able to catch balls (not so much huge bouncy ones) (stop laughing.) very well. I know the rules of the game, so that makes me even more cut out for the position. Other than right field, I could probably play any position that anyone would care to put me on. Except maybe being pitcher during softball or baseball. I completely HATE it when people smash a line drive straight for my face while I am standing on pitchers mound. Anyways, that is my view on which position I felt I performed best at and why, which position was most challenging for me and why, and which physical attributes I possess that make me best at the position I chose based on my last week of fielding and striking

And now for some crazy logic nonsense that makes sense, unlike this nonsense-sense sentence that also involves alot of crazy logic

And just a note: this is just for amusement.

There were four people. There names were Everybody, Somebody, Anybody, and Nobody. Now, Everybody had a job. Anybody could have done it, but Nobody did it. Somebody got mad at Nobody for doing Everybody's job that Anybody could have done, but Nobody ended up doing. In the end, Nobody ended up doing Everybody's job that Anybody could have done, with Somebody getting mad at Nobody for doing Everybody's job that Anybody could have done. And now, Everybody was sad that Somebody was mad at Nobody for doing Everybody's job that Anybody could have done. So, Everybody tried to get a job that Anybody couldn't do, so Somebody wouldn't get mad at Nobody for doing Everybody's job. He succeeded, and Nobody didn't have a job, causing Somebody to stop yelling at Nobody and find a psychiatrist. Anybody still could have taken up Everybody's first job, but Nobody still did it. Then, Everybody retired and Nobody was doing both jobs. Anybody could have taken either job, but didn't making Somebody get mad at Anybody for not doing Everybody's job that Nobody was doing.
THE END. =]

i think ill be ok at out field because i can throw far
im niot sure if i can catch well because i havent played softball since forever. A challenge would be catcher because im not so good at catching. The facty taht the ball is big makes it hard to catch.
i know how to play the game so thats good

After playing, I feel like I'm fine at batting, but suck at outfield. I'm a fast runner, so that helps. I need to work on my catching. Anyhow, the games are pretty fun.

I think that I did the best playing in outfield or second base. I can catch the ball eventhough you probably couldn't tell from those games. I know where to place myself to go under the ball and make it easier to catch it. I feel like I am terrible at batting but I am better at kicking in kickball. I'm not good at batting because I am inexperienced and have no clue how to swing at the ball.

I feel that i am best at batting/kicking. this is because i have never struck out and i really like playing this position. The hardest position for me is probably catcher because i am too afraid that the ball will slam into my face (my team never has a catchers helmet). I posses a great amount of strength as well as a good sense of aim which really help when batting/kicking,

The position that i think i performed well was 1st base because i got the ball most of the time and got a lot of outs =D The "physical attributes" that i think i have to be good at 1st base is that i'm a good catcher and i guess thats about it :p p.s Chris y the heck did u write a little story, hmmm?!

I think i did best at short stop or outfield because i have cat like reflexes and i am able to throw far. The most challenging was third base because i never played that before and did not really know what to do. My physical attribute that helped me was my speed.

I played the outfield position behind 2nd base because there were no more positions left. The times that the balls come to me, I manage to catch them and throw them in the right direction.
I like my position because I am out of the way of the people that can actually get opposing people out. And if it does come to me then I will do my best.
I am not good at kicking/hitting the ball because I don't have good aim when it comes to sports.
I can throw and catch good enough to play my position well.

I really think that we should run 5 miles per day every class, that way we could stay in shape.

Anonymous said...

i think that i was bad at catching and i only played one position the whole time and i guess it was ok, but i think i should make a bigger effort. also, i haven't really played softball before, and i dont have any physical attributes that helped much.

I think i preformed best at center outfield because I can somewhat catch the ball. The most challenging position for me was second base because i cant catch grounders. I have good hand eye coordination.

I feel I was best i the outfield as i only barely hit the ball when I was batting. I feel I played my best in the shortstop position as I caught the ball and got someone out. You have to keep your eye on the ball and follow it throughout and I feel I did fairly well in the position.

The postition i felt i was okay at was second base although i only played it for a game. It is easier for me to catch and throw from a shorter distance. The postition i felt that was challenging was outfield because i cant catch.

i think i do best in the out field because it is esay for me to catch a ball that has hang time. I think pitcher was the hardest for me because i cant aim when i throw under hand. I have good speed and i have power because i can run quickly after the ball and i have enough power to throw it back

i perfomed well at catcher its not that demanding of a position and its fun to make signs and not have to really pay attention to the rest of the game. i was bad a pitching because when ever i would lose focus or throw a bad ball i would have achoir of voices yelling at me. catcher was good because you dont need much physical atributes.-alex smolen

I think I was best at catcher because I can easily throw and catch. And, it wasn't hard to cover homeplate and you rarely had to because usually the ball would get hit far enough that by the time it got back into the field the runner had already made it home. I wasn't the best at batting, but I blame it on the pitcher.

I think that I play best at batter. This is because I am a fast runner and the whole field is in front of me so I can make a strategy for where I'm going to run and how. The position I was the worst at was probably pitcher. One, because I have terrible aim when it comes to baseball, and two, because I have bad vision of the game (I make the wrong choices) from that position. The skill that helped me at batting is my speed.

okay. I somehow closed my window before I submitted the form, so this is my second time writing it.

Based on my positions last week, I feel that I am competent at 1st base. It only requires concentration to the game and involvement, which I believe I did fine. The most challenging position was the right field, because it involved more glove-eye coordination, which I don't have with my left hand. The physical attributes I possess is quick reaction time, which could come in handy when playing 1st base.

I think i did best at playing pitcher and batting because I am good at throwing and hitting the ball. I also did well in these positions because I can run pretty fast. I didn't do as well playing outfield because I'm not as good with catching the ball.

I think I was pretty good at outfield because I could get the ball and throw it to the pitcher.
Pitching was the hardest position, because it is very hard to throw anything but balls. I was good at oufielding because I had quick reflexes and could quickly react to a ball coming to me.

I feel like i did the best in the outfield because i was fast enough to get to the ball and i am good at catching pop flies. I was not as good at pitcher because i am inacurate and i threw too many balls. I was okay at batting because i got on base a lot of times with bunts. Anyways, the games are fun.

I believe i did best at first base because i caught most of the balls that the pitcher threw to me to get someone out. The position that was most challengaing was outfield because it was difficult to catch while the ball is so high and its so sunny out. It blinded my eyes. My physical atributes was that i can catch short distance balls so it would make me good for 1st base.

Anonymous said...

i feel that my best position was second base because i caught most of the balls and could get people out and can tell where the ball will go. i feel that playing in the out field was the hardest because it was hard to throught the ball to people from a far a way place.

Anonymous said...

My best position was probably either defense or goalie because I am not a very powerful kicker, but I am able to block a pass rather well.

Anonymous said...

My best position was any position in the outfield because I am good at catching and can throw pretty far. The most challenging position was 1st base because if it was a grounder i had to get because usually the 2nd baseman didn't get it because they were covering their base so I had to cover that whole area. I can throw far so that makes me good for the outfield

i am not really familiar with any striking and fielding sports so but i guess my best position from what we played in that week is outfield because i am really bad at catching balls in the air for softball and alll the ground balls come to the outfield. i am horrible at batting.

Anonymous said...

I played pitcher for 3 days and i felt good about my abilities. I dont feel like i have good atributes to play my position also i was veru good at batting

i performed best at outfield and it was challenging for me at the same time. My height helps me a lot at the position.
