Period 4 - Basketball

Due Date: Wednesday, May 13th
The teams have been selected! Please take a moment and look at your teams!

Team positions. A basketball team has five players that play five different postions.

1. A "1" is the point guard. This person is the best dribbler and passer. This person brings the ball down the court and has the best chance of maintaining possesion of the ball if pressure is put on.
2. A "2" is the shooting guard. This person has the best shot on the team. You want this person to shoot the ball for you the most.
3. A "3" is the small forward. This person is a pretty good at shooting and rebounding. They will cut through the lane and be a threat.
4. A "4" is the power forward. This person is a great rebounder and will spend most of the time with their back to the basket, or playing in the post. They will take close shots and look to rebound every ball
5. A "5" is the center. This person is usually the tallest person on the team and specializes in shot blocking and rebounding. On offense, they are like the power forward and play close to the basket.

Please look at your team and assign the players on your team a role or position as described. Put the number next to their name from 1-5 and put yourself last with whichever number you think you will fit into and why.

Please put your name on the blog

A "1" will be played best by Kevin because he maneuvers him-self across the court in a short period of time and he has a high chance of maintaining the possession of the ball

A "2" will be played best by Joe because he has the best accuracy throughout the team members proven by his performance in the "3 pointer" warm up.

A "3" will be played best by me because I have a mediocre skill of shooting the ball and I do make attempts to get the rebound.

A "4" will be played best by Aruther because he is able to cut lanes to place himself behind the defensive players and he is able to gain possession of the ball when there is a rebound

A "5" will be played best by Brandon because physically he is the tallest player and his position on the court is close to the basket.

3. Amir, you have good shot selection and you have good passes.
2. Costa, you have a good shot selection and you are consistant with your shots.
5. Austin(AJ), you are tall and a good rebounder and you have good shot selection.
4. Dane, you can jump high to steal the ball and you take close shots and a good shot selection.
1. Nick, you are fast and have good ball control and you are a good shooter and you have a good use of passes.
3. Sydnie, I am okay at shooting and rebounding. I am small and I am good at setting picks and being a threat and cutting through the lane to get open. I think this is the best position for me.

Maxwell Redding

The "1" on our team would be Supreme because he can pass really well and dribble like a wizard.

The "2" on our team would be Julia because she can penetrate into the lane and shoot the ball very well.

The "3" on our team would be me becasue I beleive that I can shoot the ball very well (most of the time) and drive into the lane.

The "4" on our team would be Tyler because he is very good at getting rebounds and shoots the ball inside of the arch very well.

The "5" on our team would be Raliq because he is our tallest player and he likes to drive the ball inside, however, he also has a outside shot so he, on our team, would be like Kevin Love.

1. Kavonte or Keon because both have good handles and are able to attack the basket and find the open man. Both are on ball defenders.

2. Keon has the best shot on the team. But, Kavonte does shot the most.

3. Joe

4. Me, i am a good rebounder, can play in the post, and can step out and make a shot.
5. Amon he gets lots of rebounds and loose balls and plays tough. Andy too because he also does the dirty work down low and does all the hustle plays

Julia stern

1) I think the number one position fits supreme very well. he is a good point guard and is the playmaker on the team.
2) the number two would have to be either ralik or Max, they are always consistent with their shots.
3) I think I would be the number three because I can shoot the ball fairly well, and I drive through the lane to get a layup when available.
4) tyler is a goo number four, he is one of the best rebounders on the team.
5) ralik is also the number 5 because he is the tallest on the team and has the best shot block I have ever seen.

1. Supreme, I taught him everything he knows about dribbling, so it's only right that he's gifted with the handles.
2. Julia, she seems to have the most consistent 3- point shot on the team. Taught by yours truly.
3. Maxwell has learned a lot abut the game of basketball from watching the talented Ralik Davis make great cuts and finish baskets. He has reciprocated those actions perfectly.
4. Tyler, comes clutch with a lot of much needed rebounds in serious situations. I think he also picked up a lot by watching Ralik.
5. Ralik, Vertically gifted and overall gifted. (Also great at attacking the board for rebounds.)

Ralik Davis (Surprise)
