in ultimate frisbee you have to get the frisbee into the end of the goal line. if you can throw it in to another teammate then your team shall get a point. this is almost the same in football. in football you have to throw it to an reciever and the reciever has to get to the end and unlike ultimate frisbee you can take two steps and then pass. but if your team has a defense then the other team can;t get into the endline.

I dont know if this counts for anything since it's late. my bad. but football is another sport that maintaing possession is key

Keeping possession helps the team move down the field and have a better chance of scoring. Defending the goal line is important because you can make sure the other team doesn't score, and also quickly regain possession of the frisbee.

Maintaining possession is important for your team to be successful because you need to try to keep the frisbee within your team in order to score. Defending the goal line is also important because if there is no one defending the goal line then your opponent can score very easily.

Another game where these concepts would be applicable is soccer, where you need to maintain possession of the ball within your team and defend the goal line when the opponent is getting close to prevent them from scoring.

If you maintain possession of the frisbee for a long time the other team will eventually tire out and your team begins to get a rhythm going and probably eventually score. When you defend the goal line, the chances of the opposing team scoring are much more diminished than they are if you don't cover them and leave them wide open to be passed to.

Soccer is another invasion game that is like Ultimate Frisbee and it's concepts. For example, in soccer it is important to maintain possesion of the ball so the other team tires out and you get the ball moving up the field. You have to defend the goal to prevent the other team from scoring. Simple basics of what soccer is - you don't want a team scoring more goals than your team does.

During ultimate frisbee you defend the line so that the other team can not score. One Way to defend is that your team mantians posession of the frisbee. Another invasion game where this applies is handball, you use the same ideals of passing and movment there is just a smaller goal

Austin Tritto- Maintaining possesion is very important becuase when it is not maintained, your team will suffer the concequences. My team had over 300000 turnovers a game an that contributed to team tritto's dissapointing season of 0-7. Another sport like that of ultimate frisbee is football because if you do not maintain possesion chances are you will lose the game....tenacious/george is the man

keeping possession and defending the goal line is important to my team's success because if we did not defend the goal it would be easy points for the opponents to get. when you keep possession of the frisbee, it allows your team to move up and try to make a goal. Another invasion game like it is soccer because you have to keep possession of the ball to score and defend your goal from opponents scoring

These concepts are important because you need to maintain possession in order to score points and if you defend the goal line then the other team wont score

Pagemon Ghias-
Well, the importance of maintaining possession is very important. this is because without possession you can NOT score and without scoring you cannot win! In order to do this successfully every team member needs to give 110 % effort and passion.
(be 11 as you say) Defending the goal line is also key to win, or be successful! you defend the goal line to protect your goal from being scored on. offence and scoring on offence is very important but, is no good without a successful and well organized defense... especially on the goal line! Any other team game can, and should apply these same principles. For example... Football... in order to win or be successful you must defend the goal line and hold possession in order to score. same with soccer...etc

Nicholas Chung,
Maintaining possession of the ball (frisbee)is important because it geves you a better chance for scoring points.
Also, while u maintain possession of the ball, there is no way for the other team to score.
Defending the goal line is important becuase if the opposing team cant reach the goal line, then the opposing team cannot score which is good.

THese concepts can be applied to football. if u maintain control of the football, then its really hard for the other team to score (unless they get a saftey or interception). When defending,if u defend the touchdown zone well enough, then u limit the opposing team to only field goals which are worth less then TD's.

you have to maintain possession to score a goal and you have to defend your goal line so the other team cant score a goal.

Football is another type of invasion game because the goal of football is to score in the opponents end zone and the opponent tries to stop you. Usually in football if you have the ball for a longer period of time than the other team, then you will most likely win, unless the opponents defense is good and can stop them when it counts.

Jason Choi- It is important to maintain possesion of the frisbee becuase it will give more oppurtunities to score goals. It is also important to defend the goal line because if you have a good defense you can stop the opposing team from scoring. These two concepts can be applied to several other games, one of these games is soccer.

In ultimate frisbee it is important to keep position because if the other team does not have the frisbee than they cannot score. Also, defending your goal line is very important because on defense your main objective is to not allow the opposing team to score. These concepts are also fundamental to the game of football.

In ultimate Frisbee, it is very important to maintain possession and have a strong defense. If your team has a good defense, then it will make it hard for the opposing team to score, therefore giving you a higher shot of winning. Defending the goal line also helps prevent the other team from scoring on you.

This sport is similar to soccer because in soccer you also have to maintain possession of the ball in order to score and keep the other team from scoring on you. You also have a defense which keeps the opposing team from scoring on you.

It is important to maintain possession when playing sports because otherwise it is impossible to score. It is also important to defend the goal line to prevent the opponent from scoring. A game where this applies is soccer. The same concepts of passing and blocking are used.

in frisbee maintaining possession is important because it gives your team a better chance to get to the goal line. and another sport would be football...

Its important to maintain posession because thats how you can score. if you cannot attack well, you lose posession and you have to play defense. its harder to control where the friesbee would go because you arent the one trying to score. they attackers hae more of an advantage. This is similar to field hockey, because you want to keep posession and have the next touch. if you pass it to your team u the field there is a more likely chance that they can get in the circle and score or make the other team cause a foul in the circle and have a corner. if you pass to the opposite team they have a better chance of scoring.

Matt Kehr-In ultimate frisbee, maintaining possession of the frisbee is very important because without the frisbee, you cannot score. Well you can score but it takes a very well organized and functional defense to intercept the frisbee and score in the endzone. If you dont defend the gaol line, the other team will simply score and you will have to pay the price.

Another invasion game where all of these concepts would be applicable is the game of football.

Katthy Shaw said...

Maintaining possession during a game is important because the main objective is to keep the frisbee away from the opposing team and to score. At the same time the players are also defending the goal line to prevent any opponents from gaining possession and possibly scoring. Another sport with similar concepts is football. Players need to work with each other to defend and prevent the opponents from attacking the player who is currently in possession of the football.

Maintaining possession of the frisbe is important because it can help you get closer to your goal and increases your chance of scoring. Defending the goal line is important because it lowers the chances of the other team scoring points. Another sport where you have to do these things is soccer.

I think that these are important because it is impossible for a team to score when they do not have the ball, or when the ball is in their goal! I think that these ideas can also be applied to football, where a strong defense, good passing, and good communication are key to defending the goal line and maintaining possession, and winning.

...just answering the part i forgot. the concepts of maintaing possession and defending the goal line are important to the team to be successful because every opportunity that your opponent has the frisbee, you are vulnerable to be scored on. which brings up the second part of defending the goal line, where you have to prevent the other team from scoring or it may cost the game

In Ultimate Frisbee possession is the most important part of the game. Without maintaining the frisbee scoring is much more difficult. Also Possesion lets your team control the tempo. In Football maintaining possession is very important too.

In ultimate frisbee you have to maintain possesion to progress down the feild. After all, you cant move without the frisbee. Also you need to protect your goal line so the otehr team cant score. A game like this is football where you need to keep position to keep runnig offensive plays. Also on defense you try to stop the opposite team from scoring a touchdown.
