Period 6 - Basketball

Due Date: Wednesday, October 7th

We are getting ready to start our 2 on 2 unit.  This unit will focus on getting position and making moves in the post.  Watch the video clip below and answer the following questions.  Please make sure to write your name on your blog.

1. Please indicate 2 ways to get position in the post.

2.  How can you give your opponent a different look in the post?

3.  In the video, Carlos Boozer says that size and build or physique do not determine how successful you will be in the post position.  Do you agree with this? Why or why not?

(1) V-cut, Spin move
(2)Facing him up
(3)Yes I agree because i believe skill is a major contributor to being a good post player

1. By using a V-cut or spin move

2. By facing up the defender

3. Yes i do agree with that statement because finesse and skill play a major role in your success in the post. Chris Paul is an example of this, he has a mean fade away in the high post.

1.2 ways you can get position in the post is a spin-move or a V-cut.

2.Give your opponent a different look in the post by facing them.

3.I agree with Carlos because size or build doesn't matter, you could be tall and muscular but still have no ball-handling skills, so its more of the practice to get skills than the size and build in order to be successful.

1. Vcut, Fake the screen

2.If your defender plays you tight he backs them down and goes for a hook shot.

3.I do not agree if your 5 feet tall and your defender is 6 feet tall it doesn't matter if you do those moves perfectly your getting blocked.

1. Fake away and do a v-cut; fake a screen and spin down to the post
2. You can face him up instead of backing him down; jab step to get him off balance
3. Yes, I agree with boozer because skill and court tactics greatly influence what you do with the ball at the post in the first place.

1) fake the screen and do a spin move and a v-cut
2) depending on the amount of resistance they are giving you you can try to back them down or face them up
3) no i dont agree, while having skills and technique can make you an average post player and might let you back down some slightly larger opponents, it takes size and athleticism to truly be a great post player

1.) V-Cuts, and a Spin Move.
2.) Face your opponent.
3.) I agree with this, as there are other skills you can be talented at; rather than your size.

V-cut or spin move

2. By squaring up with the defender

3.not exactly. Even though skill plays a huge role in your success in the post, strength matters much more. An example of this is me, also known as shaq
