1. Name 2 ways Kobe creates space.
-pivoting around defense
-v cut

2. Explain one of his signature moves and how he reads the defense in the move.
Outside Jumper
1.Triple Threat Position
2. Jab Step
3. Jumper
He read the defense after he squared up. The defense on him would not be able to see what was going on since he was facing the ball handler and he could easily get past the guard.

3. Which move on the video clip do you feel you are best at? Why ?
I think out of the 4 moves in the video, I can do the pull up jumper the best. This is because my pump-fakes are not convincing in the least, I can't do a reverse lay-up, and I can't aim well from the three-point line.

1- jab step, pump fake
2- he uses the jab, strong side drive, pump fake spin and he either shoots the shot or passes it off to a teammate
3-I think I'm the best at the jab strong side drive because I like to get to the basket and get foul calls

Ben Blutstein Period 2

1. jabstep, pivot
2. Kobe uses the pullup jumpshot when he reads that the defender knows you can shoot, but can also drive as well as the other team has help side defense.
3. I feel like I am the best at the jabstep because I use it a lot in the triple threat position to create space or get the defender off balanced.

1. Jab step, V-cut
2. Pump fake and pivot
-triple threat position
- jab step
-drive by
-pump fake then pivot
If the opponent blocks the way, he would pass the ball to a teammate. However, if there is a clear shot, he would throw the ball over the top of the hoop.
3. I think that I might do the pull-up jump shot best because the other moves seem too difficult and complicated.

1. jab step and a V-cut
2. Pull-up jumper:
-v-cut
-triple threat
-drives to the basket
-takes a jump shot before he gets to the block
Kobe's defender knows that he can shoot a three, so the defender might guard him tighter. Kobe can drive to the basket, making the defender think he is going for a lay-up. Then kobe pulls the jumper, shaking the defense off of him.
3. I think I'm best at the pull-up jumper because that is simpler and is effective in getting the defense off of you

1) Jab step, pivot, v-cut
2) Triple threat position, jab step, drive by and if there is help defense he either pulls up and take the shot or try to do a reverse layup on the big man and try to draw a foul.
3) The reverse layup because I can change my shot in the air and it's one of the fundamentals in basketball that everyone should know how to do.

1. V-cut, pump-fake
2. Triple threat position. If there's space, he can shoot. If not he can drive, which he's pretty good at, or just pass, which is something he wouldn't do anyway.
3. Pull up jumper. Becomes pretty consistent after a while

Chris Vondas Period 2

1. Jab Step
V-cut

2. In Kobe's signature pump fake and pivot move, he pump fakes to get his defender in the air and then he pivots around him. Then he reads the help defense to time his shot . He can either go up regularly for the shot or draw contact and try for the 3 point play.

3. I feel that I am the best at the pull up jump shot because shooting is a big part of my game.

1. V cut and jab step
2. For the outside jumper, after he is in triple threat and jab steps, he uses the created space/buffer as an opportunity to read the defense behind his defender that is looking at him. Depending on the situation, he may drive if the defense behind is weak, or in this move, Kobe jab steps again to throw his defender off balance and then shoots.
3. I feel like I am better at the second move, the drive, because I can move faster than my defender and my shot has less of a chance of getting blocked.

1. V cut and the jab step
2. Pump fake and pivot
-get in triple threat position
- jab step inside or outside
-drive by the opponent
-pump fake then pivot
If there's a clear shot then take if not then dish out to teammate.
3. I think I am best at the pull up jumpshots. That's what I feel most comfortable doing and it comes natural.

1.V cut and jab step
2.He's faking the move to make the defender lose his balance.
3.I feel like I am good at shooting because it's the first move I learned.

1. Kobe uses the v cut and the jab step to create space
2. Kobe's pump fake pivot has to do with tricking the defender. First he uses the jab step to create space and the triple threat to keep the defender guessing while he reads the defense. Then, he fakes a shot, hoping the defender will fall for it, and does a pivot like spin move to get around him. He reads the defense as quickly as possible during the triple threat position and through the pivot, so he can make his decision of execution.
3. My strongest move is the side jumper because it is the most affective move that I use and it is the move that I am the most comfortable with.

1. V-cut and pump fake
2. Kobe's signature moves
When he pump fakes, the defender is thrown off balance, creating space for Kobe. And he can create more space by pivoting around the defender, so he can protect the ball.
Then he makes the shot on the block.
3. The reverse lay-up is the move I feel I am best at, because I like making that contact on the defender and making the shot.

1.Jap step and V
2.Reverse Layup, First Kobe gets into a triple-threat position then jab steps to get the defender a little off balance then drives by the defender and finishes with the reverse layup.
3. I feel like I'm the best at the reverse layup, because since I'm a smaller player it helps me get under the defenders and drive by them for a easy layup.

1. V-cut and Jab step

2. after he receives the ball and goes into triple threat, he jab steps to create some space between him and his defender. this gives him space and time to plan his next move. if he jabs and the defender moves towards the way he jabs and no one is behind him, Kobe would take it to the rim. If he jabs and the defender goes with him but there is help coming, then he would spot up and shoot.

3. I Feel like i am good at the jab step because i can score inside better so the jab step would help me get to the rim. \

he does a fake to the inside and drives around his defender and gets an ideal angle. He then times his lay up and creates a bump between the big and him while using the rim as protection and does a reverse layup hopefully drawing an “and one”
I feel like i’m the best at a pull up jump shot because I'm decent at making separation

Kobe two moves to create space are the v cut then the jab step. His signature move is the reverse lay up. The move I think I'm best at is he reverse lay up because I'm quick and can get to the basket when I need to

1.) V-cut and Jab step
2.)Kobe uses the pump fake and pivot to get his defender to move or jump. If the defense jumps he drives by the opponent to get an easy layup otherwise he uses his pivot foot very effectively to get by.
3.)I am the best at the pump fake then drive by because my first step is long so I take u space to get by my defender.

V cut and the jab step to create space

Reverse layup is his signature move, using protection from rim and hopefully drawing a foul along with the points.

Making separation and generally taking it all the way to the basket is what I do best. My height I can only play point guard and getting a shot off against a big guy is difficult, so I like to take it to the basket.

1. He creates space with the jab step and the V cut
2. Kobe can do a pump fake and if he sees the defender jump to block the shot from far away from him, he can easily drive-by. Kobe also notes how if the defender is close he can tell and use his pivot foot to get around him.
3.I think I could do best at the drive-by because I'm not the greatest shooter so I can make it past the defense, I could make an easy lay-up.
