Period 7 - Basketball

Due Date: Wednesday, March 18th
We are getting ready to start our basketball 3 on 3 unit. Based on your own basketball experiences, as well as what you have learned so far in class, what are three strengths that your 3 on 3 team must possess to be successful? Why?

1. Teamwork/Awareness- Know where your teammates are so you can easily pass and get past defenders.
2. Flexibility- Know what's happening and adapt to the situation properly.
3. Variety- A well balanced team works better together. If everyone only shoots or only plays in the paint then it will be much easier for the opponent to defend against.

1.) One strength your 3 on 3 team should possess is the ability to pass the ball well so the ball will get to the open player, and the team will get an easy basket.

2.) Another strength your 3 on 3 team should possess is the ability to shoot the ball well to keep defenders alert and not able to just stay down low. Also, it will help get some easy buckets.

3.) My third strength your 3 on 3 team should possess is the ability to play defense well so the other team doesn't score as much and it will be easier to win the game.

Focus, If your not open to shoot the ball then you should pass the ball to your teammate and concentrate on your aim when you shoot the ball Set Goals, Make a plan with your teammate that will help you to score and make baskets
Help Your Teammate Out, If your teammate doesn't know what to do then help them. You can help them by giving them advice to help them play better. Be Confident, Don't come into a game thinking your going to loose. You and your teammate should come on the court with a positive attitude.

trust-if you cant trust your teammate you cant win

The three strengths that my 3on3 team must posses is setting pics, finding open space, and passing. Setting pics allow for space to be easily created and is very effective since the defense will be slowed down for players to get easy shots. Finding open space allows for players to have an easy time shooting the ball with no defenders on them. Passing is especially crucial since there is more options to give to, allowing for more ball movement, leading towards easier shots/points.

Three strengths that we need in order to be successful is communication, screens, and cutting. These are the basic things that will help us win.

To make our 3 on 3 team successful we will need superior guarding, rebounding, and shooting. We need intense defense to try to force turnovers and get block shots and we need to rebound the ball so we can receive the ball back to get more attempts to score. We need great shooting to win our games.

WE must be able to effectively move the ball so that we can get open shots. Secondly we have to have superb defense so that we limit the amount of points the other team is able to acquire. If my team does this we will be unstoppable.

1.Being able to get open so that the shooter can score points.

3. Also being able to set screens to the opposite team.

1.The team has to be able to pass well and get open.
2.The team has to be able to set screens for each other so that people will get open for a shot.
3.Good communication is key so that you can call for the ball and know where your team mates are on the court.

1. Share and pass the ball because basketball is a team sport and one man's power can't conquer everything.
2. Set screen because i think it'll be a lot easier to score when there's no one in front of you.
3. Distribute the job appropriately because everyone has advantages and weakness, make people play on their position will help the team to win.

1. Communication- This is importent for both offence and defense. Without communication then a team wont be organized.

2. Defense- As it is alwas said,"offense wins games, defense wins championships." This is because defense keeps the opponent from scoring points. This makes victory easier to grasp.

3. Ball Movement- Ball Movement is essential to a team. It is one of the most basic things a player learns. It creates oppurtunities to shoot the ball or penetrate, causing you to win.

1. Teamwork so we can pass the ball and open opportunities
2. People who are good at shooting so we can score
3. People who are good at defense so the other team doesnt score

Unknown said...

1.Chemistry so we understand how to score the ball with each other.
2.We need lockdown defense because the less points the other team scores in turn gives us more opportunities to score our ball.
3.We need to have diversity in our ability to score the ball so that we make it harder for the other team to guard us.

1) Chemistry-teammates must have good chemistry and be able to get along with each other. This includes knowing each others strengths and weaknesses

2)Defense-The team must be strong defensively in order to force turnovers and hold the opposing team to a low scoring effort

3)Offense-The team must be able to score in all manners, off the dribble, pick and roll, post, outside, etc.

1. We must be able to box out. Considering the size of some of the competition, in order to get rebounds we must box the opposing team out during a shot.
2. Our team should make smart decisions. Passing the ball effectively will prevent careless turnovers and taking smart shots will increase our likelihood of scoring.
3. My teammates and I should keep our heads up during each game. We can't let a mistake get to our heads and prevent us from performing well on the next play.

1) shooting because without shooting you cant possibly score any points.
2)passing because you need one pass before shot.
3)getting open and being available to be passed to because without that you cant pass and without the pass you cant shoot and without the shot you cant score.

1. Positivity, you won't win if you are putting your team down.
2. Smart shots, if you can't get a clean shot, then pass it to a teammate.
3. Defense, if your team can block or prevent shots, you can't win.
