I watched the Calgary Flames versus the New York Islanders. Hockey is much more physical than I expected. I realized that there are 5 players and a goalie on the ice at once, per team. And they substitute players during the game; they do not stop the game to substitute like soccer. Also when a penalty occurs the player that did the penalty has to sit in the penalty box for a period of time, and his team is down a player for as long as he is in the penalty box.

The game I saw was Tampa Bay vs. St Louis. After watching the game I've noticed that there isn't really any action in the game. Also that every player has there own technique or styles to play. To score that player has to be really focused in order to score a point. I've also noticed that there could only be 6 players on each team on the ice to play.

I watched the Tampa Bay Lightning versus the Carolina Hurricanes game. Hockey is much faster than most other sports. It is also a very physical sport to play. After watching the game, I realized that all of the players have to be in great physical shape in order to be a good player. The players usually take very short shifts, mostly 45 seconds to a minute long, in order to save their energy. After watching the game, I also noticed that the goalie is the most important player on the ice, and the players will do anything to protect them.

i watched the NY Ranchers vs. Pittsburgh Penguins. During the game, i realized that the players play very aggressively. Because of this, the game is very fast paced and keeping track of the puck becomes much more difficult. Also, like soccer, scoring is a constant struggle. If a team manages to score, it leaves the other team at a disadvantage and teamwork becomes critical as the game progresses.

The game I saw was Tampa Bay vs. St. Louis. I came to the conclusion that hockey is the most dangerous sport. It is also very hard to multi-task from carrying the stick, to passing/shooting, to checking, and to skating. I also saw that many players about every 20-30 seconds substitute off the rink. Lastly I noticed that it was hard to keep track of the puck for me and the cameraman.

I watched the Tampa bay chargers vs. the Orlando hurricanes. While watching the game I noticed that it was really fast paced. There are many shots on goal and the goalie had to be pretty flexible to save some of the shots that where taken. I've also noticed that it gets really aggressive than other sports and other players can give out some pretty hard checks. There are also some fights that happened and the refs just watched until one of the two players ended up on the ice.

Hiran Mendries,

The game that I saw today was the Dallas Stars Vs Toronto Maple Leafs. After watching the game I noticed that there were 6 players on the ice for each team. Only 5 of them are skaters and only one is the goaltender per a team.I also noticed that you can go around and behind the goal area, and this doesn't count as an out of bounds. I also noticed that the goalie is wearing a lot of leg head and arm gear to protect him/herself or the goal.

I watched the Washington and columbus game. Hockey is is very fast and physical. There are different penalties, and each has different time periods; most of the times it's 2 minutes, but if someone fights, then they go to the box for 5 minutes. If the team with more players scores a goal and the player who committed the penalty comes out of the box, even if the time is not up yet. Sometimes, coaches can pull the goalie to have an extra man on the ice.

I felt as if just by watching the game i could tell how much practice is needed to play this game. I wasn't totally surprised with the outcome of capitals winning because they controlled the puck better on their opponents field. Which similarly to soccer is a surefire way to win. One thing i noticed is the difficulty of the sport, to move so easily on ice requires a lot of practice...not to mention the fact that i saw goalies block shots were the camera could barley even register the puck. With the 6 or more players on the ice, the game seemed action packed as every player had their own strategies of play but had to add their talents to the team and not just themselves.

I watched Calgary vs. New York Islanders
I saw a fight between two players and both of them got 5 minute penalties after.
Every time the player from one team hit the puck down the ice and no one touched it a penalty was called.
New York scored a goal and everyone celebrated.
Then there was a face off after and it was intense.
There was also another fight later in the game and more players got involved.

I watched the Washington Capitals vs. the Columbus Blue Jackets hockey game. I saw that each team had six players on the ice at a time including the goalie. The game stated with a face off, a face off also occurs when a goal is scored or there is any stop in play. Unlike in many other sports it is perfectly acceptable for players to hit (check) each other accept in certain ways like boarding or elbowing. Boarding and elbowing are known as penalty's. When a penalty is committed by a player the game does not stop until the team that the player whom committed the penalty has control of the puck. Each penalty has a different amount of penalty time that the player will have to sit in the penalty box for. The majority of penalties are two minutes long. When a player goes to the penalty box their team doesn't get another player on the ice for however long their player is in the penalty box is how long that team is down a man on the ice.

I watched the Dallas stars vs the penguins.
the game play is very rough with people decking each other. there is a offside rule like in soccer and one player got called for it. there are six players on each team. this includes the goalie. one player had to sit out for 2 minutes and the penguins got a power play. Overall it was a very rough game.

I watched Flyers vs Penguins 2/20/13

Ice Hockey is a very physical sport, there are very aggressive plays sometimes and fights. It's kind of hard to keep up with where the puck because it moves very fast across the ice. There are also only 6 players on the ice at a time. The players obviously need to know how to skate well as well as play the game so they must be in really good shape. There are also periods in Hockey rather than quarters.

i watched the Rangers vs Capitals game tonight (going on right now) and i noticed how physical the sport is. You must be in great shape as well. Goalies are very important and must have great reflexes to save some of the shots. There are penalties involved varying from either a 2 minute penalty or a 5 for fighting, sometimes there a 4 minute double minor penalty. it leaves the team who is penalized down a player for that amount of time which gives them a disadvantage and helps the other team try to capitalize on the opportunity.

I watched Dallas Stars vs. Toronto Maple Leafs. I noticed that hockey has a very quick pace. It's also dangerous, which is why the players wear a lot of padding. The players hold the hockey stick very firmly. You have to pay attention to the puck and the location of your teammates because it's hard to lose track of the puck, and you might pass it to the wrong team.

I watched the Capitals play the Rangers. I first noticed that the play was very fast paced and the puck was constantly moving. Also, early in the game a player for to Rangers committed a foul and that player was sent to a penalty box to sit out for 2 minutes. This gave the Capitals a numerical advantage on the ice and they then played very offensively giving the puck up very few times. Once the Rangers got the puck however they would send all the way down rink to avoid the danger of being scored on. They would then get called for this as a foul known as icing and the play would stop and restart as a faceoff in a circle on the ice.

watched Calgary vs New York Islanders
Overall I thought that the game is very fast pace and needs alot of stamina to be order to play hockey on ice. It is also very physical , you are allowed to push people to the glass and there is so much fighting going on. There helmets seem to not protect them very well do to the fact that they are so many people with alot of teeth missing. The Goalie has alot of padding which is good because the puck is very heavy and hard
overall hockey looks like an awsome game

I watched Tampa Bay play vs. Detroit
I realized that hockey is a very physical sport, with teams fighting very often and players having to really fight for the puck. The goal is very small, and on top of that the goalie covers most of it so it is a very tight space to fit the puck into. The penalties are basically time-outs with players serving longer penalties depending on the severity of their action. the puck moved very quickly and when one team attacks it is very easy for the other team to counter attack and score. also, unlike soccer or basketball, in hockey you may go behind the goal which is huge in maintaining the flow of the game.

I watched the Flyers vs Penguins game on youtube. After watching hockey, I realized that the players are very physical. I also noticed that the players move very fast and must be in great shape. They must also have lots of skill to move on the ice and control the puck while being strong enough to take lots of contact. Another thing I noticed is that it is very low scoring and each goal is a huge deal and is celebrated a lot. This is because one goal can often change the outcome of a game.

I watched the Lightening vs. The Red Wings, the Red Wings won 2-1. Hockey is maybe the most physical sport out there, there was a lot of body checking and things like that. Unlike most sports, Hockey has 3 periods. I still don't understand the offsides rule in hockey which was called at least once. Hockey is very fast, i noticed that when we played we hit the puck and looked around for it, but the Red Wings especially had good control with the puck. Hockey is pretty interesting.

I watched part of the capitals vs rangers game. I was impressed by how quickly the players could skate both forwards and backwards. I was also surprised the game transitioned from offence to defence. That made the game exciting because one team could be defending rhen score a goal in a matter of seconds. I also noticed that the game is very physical.

I watched the Washington caps vs the New York Rangers. I realized the came is played at a very fast pace. It also is a very physical game. I learned that in hockey there is a penalty box where the players sit during a penalty. The. During the penalty one team has to play with one less player. This is called a power play

I wacthed the Washington caps Vs the New York Rangers. Hockey is way harder then it seems and looks. hockey is diffenret then basketball for one you dont have to call a time out to sub in a player. then hockey is way different from other sports because they let people fight until some one falls or is knocked out. But also people are allowed to truck other people. Hockey also has goals if one of the pucks.

I watched Capitals vs Blackhawks on October 15th. I noticed hockey is super physical and body checks are common. Also, you always have to be aware on the ice because you could easily get decked into the boards or hit by a puck. Next, I was surprised to see the Capitals play this well and demolish the Blackhawks. In Hockey substitutions are called line changes and are done on the go, thus it is crucial to be fast to give your team a slight advantage. Lastly, I realized how all the best hockey players are unbelievable skaters so it comes down to mastering the basics.

I watched the capitals play the New York Rangers. It was a huge blow out but is crazy how hard it is to score the puck. It's much more fast speed then I had expected but it was a cool game to watch. They are very physical while at he same time very skilled. They weave in and out of people while trying to score. I like how if there is a penalty one player from the team goes off the ice so the other teams gets and advantage that is called a power play. I mainly learned that the goalies job is very hard. There are people standing in front of him blocking people and also he has 100 mph shots coming right at him

I watched the caps vs the Rangers game. I have watched a lot of hockey because it was my favorite sport to watch. There is tons of contact in hockey and it is a very fast paced game. I learned that in overtime, each team plays with 4 players instead of 5. If a penalty occurs than the player who commits the penalty has to sit in the penalty box for 2-5 minutes dependin on the penalty

I watched Anaheim and Arizona. you are aloud to hit in people in hockey to gain possession of the puck. They have five players on the ice at once. hockey is like soccer and basketball combined. They have a penalty box instead of fouling out like most sports.
