1. James Naismith invented the game of basketball in Springfield, Massachusetts at his local YMCA.
2. A defensive player may stand in the paint without guarding anyone for a maximum of 3 seconds.
3. There are 10 total players on the court at one time during a high school regulation game.
4. A smart offensive player always gets into the triple threat position when they catch the ball.
5. One move that we worked on in class to attack the basket and get past the defense is the jab step. You would use this move when you are in the triple threat position in order to get the defender off balance to create space in order to attack the basket or shoot the open jump shot. Another move we worked on in class is the crossover during our daily warm ups. You would use this move in a 1 vs 1 situation to create space and get by defenders.

1. Dr. James Naismith invented basketball in 1891 while working at the YMCA Training School in Springfield, Massachusetts.
2. 3 seconds.
3. 10 players.
4. Triple threat.
5. Jab step (use the non-pivot foot) to take a half step forward) and the up and under (shoulder fake, square up to the basket, fake a shot, step past defender, shoot a lay-up). You would use the jab step to try to create space so you can either take a shot or drive to the basket. You would use the up and under when you are above the lowest block and outside the paint to get the defender off balance and ultimately score.

-jab step:the jab step is when you step forward one way to make it seem like you are going to drive, but then going the other way. This move gets the defender off-balance, giving you space to drive to the basket.
-back step: the back step is when you go towards the basket but then you suddenly take a step back to make a jump shot. This move is used to make space for a jump shot.

the person who created basketball was James Naismith and was founded in Kansas. Also the player is only allowed 3sec in the paint. and 5 players are allowed on the court. I think the point guard is the smartiest because the have to remember the play and run it also the have to start the game off. Lastthing is we worked on the drop step and the fake baseline pump fake and hard dribble to the hoop. Torrance Dawkins

1). James Naismith, in Springfield, Massachusetts
2). 5
3). 3sec
4). Triple threat
5). The v-cut is when the player with the ball "cuts" quickly around the defender and can be used to move towards the basket or to set up in a position for scoring. The drive by is when the offender jab steps then runs by the defender towards the basket, and is usually used when there is only one defender in the way of the basket.

1. Dr. James Naismith in Springfeild Massachusetts
2. As long as they please
3. 10 there are always 10 players on the court
4. Triple threat
5. The drop step, it's where you drop your back foot and drive for a layup on the block in the post when you are posting up a defender. Another move you could use is fake low go high, it's where you fake to the baseline, then you turn towards the basket and step with your left leg as a righty towards the basket and drive, this can be used in the post when posting up a defender.

4. A smart offensive player plays in a triple threat position
5. Drop Step and spin move
When you drop step, you ball fake towards the defender and take the leg that is further away from the defender. Then you drop it into the lane.
When you spin move, you pivot your foot and turn the same side of your foot and make sure to crossover the ball to that side.
