Period 5 - Basketball

Due Date: Wednesday, April 1st

In class we are just starting our 3 on 3 unit. A critical part of this unit is going to be setting screens and reading the defense. Please watch the video below and answer the following questions. Each question is worth 2 points. Please make sure to write your name on your Blog.


1. When you set a screen, do you set the screen on a person or an area?

2. What are 3 things the offensive player can do when they are being screened?

3. When should you curl off of a screen?

4. What is the most important thing to do when coming off a screen?

5. How frequently is your team using screens during your game play? Have they been effective for your team?

5.Very frequently and yes because they help teammates get open or helps them to be able to make an open shot.

5. My team uses screens during our games, but we could set more screens. They have been effective, as we have been able to get open shots.

4. get low and come right off of the shoulder of the screen
5. not very often but when we do use them they work

4.watch the shoulder, the shoulder should be the one you open up with.
5.We set the screen pretty much in every offense so that way our teammates will have multiple options which he can score easily or pass to someone who's open.

5. my team is not using very many screens, but I'm sure that if we did they would be very effective

5. We use screens in our motion offense. They are effective because they get us open layups and causes the defense to react.

5. My team rarely uses screens during play. The only time they are used is to get a wide open three pointer and when they are used they are effective.
