Period 2 Basketball

Due Date: Wednesday, December 4th
In class we have been working on setting screens and discussing reading the defense in our 3 on 3 unit. Please watch the video below and answer the following questions. Each question is worth 2 points. Please make sure to write your name on your Blog.



1. When you set a screen, do you set the screen on a person or an area?

2. What are 3 things the offensive player can do when they are being screened?

3. When should you curl off of a screen?

4. What is the most important thing to do when coming off a screen?

5. How frequently is your team using screens during your game play? Have they been effective for your team?

Liam Bezzam-
1. You set the screen on on area.
2. You can take the jump shot drive to the rim or create a pick and roll situation.
3. After your teammate goes off the pick.
4. To make sure you go off of the person's shoulder.
5. No on my team has used screens except me because I have the option of passing it pack to my teammate who is a very good shooter or driving to the rim myself.

4. To go off the screener's shoulder, and bumping the shoulder.

5. We hardly use screens because we have good one on one players. We win more then we lose so the lack of screens doesnt make a difference.

1.An area,so the screen is in the same place every time and to prevent a foul.

b.curl off a screen(jump shot or layup).
c.Run a bump

3.you should curl off a screen when the defender follows the offense.

4.Read the defence.

5.yes,my team does use screen most of the time and it is very helpful since it gets your teammate clear and you get to pass to them without the defenders taking the ball.Then we can score easier.

5.Screens really help my team get defenders off of them so they can pull up and drain a 3. They also creat lanes to the basket.

You set the screen on an area so they can bring their man your way.

You can pick and roll, drive to the hoop, or back door cut.

3. When should you curl off of a screen?
when the defender is still on you tight and you go through the screen.

4. What is the most important thing to do when coming off a screen?
To bump shoulders so the screen can be the most effective.

5. How frequently is your team using screens during your game play? Have they been effective for your team?
We haven't used it much but if we do it well it always helps create space so you can drive or shoot.
