Period 7- Advanced Basketball

Due Date: Tuesday, January 7thIt has been a great semester in all of my classes.

For your final blog I want to know how I can be a better teacher. Please answer the following questions for your final blog.
1. What did you like most about the class?
2. What did you like least about the class?
3. How did you like the use of the blog in class?
4. What would you change to make your experience in physical education better?
5. Will you take a physical education class again?

Your response will have no implications for your final grade other than if you fail to do it, so please be honest as your responses help form what we do in the future. It has been a pleasure working with each of you this past semester. Stop in and say hi when your travels bring you by the gym.

1. I liked playing some competitive basketball with my friends along with some new folks.
2. I didn't like how we didn't get to choose our teams, but I don't care too much.
3. The blog was a nice touch; since this class is different in many ways to most academic classes, it only makes sense for the assignments to be so different.
4. I would start class sooner.
5. Maybe. My schedule might be too crowded next year.

1. I enjoyed the 3 on 3 unit the most because of my team's success. It helped develop my game in the sense of building a half court offense.
2. I disliked doing the blogs even though they were a major part of the final grade. They were often easy but tedious, but I understand why they are a part of the curriculum.
3. Most times they helped shine light on what we were learning on class but I often forgot to do them and my grade was affected tremendously.
4. Allow for more flexibility on team selection. With multiple friends in my class, I wanted the opportunity to use our chemistry in game situations.
5. Advanced Basketball has definitely been one of the most rewarding experiences of high school. I would definitely take it again and hopefully I will have one more semester of basketball before I graduate.

1) What i like the most about the class is playing games in tournaments or free Friday.
2) What i like least is the useless warmups, because no one really tries we are just waiting to just play, and one game is longer then the other game.
3) I do not really like the blogs, because i do not learn anything from them, i think we should just be graded on playing in gym.
4) Physical education could be better if we did more physical education and just play basketball games and used the full 45mins effectively.
5) No i am not going to do another physical education class, because i have do so for 3 years and senior year i do not have time.

1. I liked being able to play live games with everybody. That was fun and it gave everybody the freedom to grow and get better in a real game situation.
2. I did not like the first warm up we did with the dribbling and shooting. I felt it took too long to finish, and did not teach as much, as just getting out and playing does.
3. The blog was cool, got everyone to think about basketball away from the court, and taught as well through the videos. So it was cool.
4. Nothing really, physical education has always been my favorite class because it allows me to compete
5. Probably not, im a senior and I won't have room for it on my schedule next semester.

3. The blogs were effective ways to measure our understandings of the things we learn in class as well and communicate to others with our opinions.

2. Getting points off for not changing

3. The blog helped me improve my performance in games

4. If we could listen to what you say so we don't waste time so we can get the full 45mins of the period playing basketball.

1. I liked playing basketball, especially on free Friday.

2. I disliked some of the drills we did. The only drill I found enjoyable was the 3 on 2, 2 on 1 drill. Other drills were a waste of time as they were done improperly and people would cut in front of others in line.

3. The blog was fine. I think full credit should be given for the blog as long as they are completed by the end of the school day they are due.

4. I would either remove warm-ups entirely or only use the 3 on 2, 2 on 1 drill. Sometimes half the period was wasted before we began our games for the day.

5. YEAH

Thanks for the great semester.

1. the class was great.
2. Geoff
3. I don't know what to think of the blogs. They're educational but sometimes take up time.
4.Geoff... nah, actually leave out all the warm-ups except 3-2-1 because we are in advanced basketball, so I think people tend to know the basics, and make an advanced league or intermediate league within the class. I really want competition that will push me.
5.Every semester for four years ;)
