1. Fundamental skills, and Movement Skills

2. 1-on-1 Basketball- Attacking and Defending the Basket

3. 2-on-2 Basketball- Post Moves and Defense

1. You need to know the fundamentals to play well. You need to know how to make a shot and know how to play smart defense. You need to move around to try to get open.
2. Sometimes during 5 on 5 you will have isolation situations, in these moments you need to be able to play one on one very well
3. In 5 on 5 you can run a two man game on offense like feeding the ball into the post. You also need to know how to handle screens on defense
4. 5 on 5 is basically just a larger version of 3 on 3 and you need to do the same things

1. fundamental skills like cross overs and court vision help getting past defenders or finding someone open. Movement skills also help you get past defenders, and also they will allow you to break free from your defenders, and be open for a pass.

2. 1 on 1 is important because when you have no one else to rely on, you learn to finish yourself, and if you're open, you will know what to do. You also learn how to mark your man if you're not playing zone defense.

3. post moves are important for 5 v 5 because the person who is posting has many options that he/she can take like finishing it himself, or if everyone is on you you can pass to them. The defense is also important in two on two because instead of just marking one man, you learn to switch your mark.

4. Setting screens is important because you are splitting the defense and letting the guy with the ball have a chance at finishing. Reading the defense is more basic in 3 on 3 than 5 on 5, however its still complex enough that you have to move carefully. Once you read the defense, you take advantage of its weak point and create space off it to attack since you pretty much just attack and react.

I feel like I am alright at each thing but not anything special.

1) Fundamental and movement skills allow a basic understanding of a full 5 on 5 game. Students will know basics such as shooting, dribbling, and playing defense.
2)The one on one unit allowed for students to develop their skills especially dribbling, giving a student more chance to play isolation style basketball (Lakers offense much?)
3)2 on 2 unit helps students learn how to pass and post. 2 on 2 allows for team collaboration needed on a full 5 on 5 game. Post moves are needed to expand the floor since in 5 on 5 it is important to get the ball inside the post.
4)3 on 3 allows students to learn how to play smart. Students learn how to get into the open space with picks, screens, etc. Also, when playing the screens, people learn how to play tougher and more strategical defense. Knowing how to create space and how to play smart defense allows for a more successful 5 on 5 game.

I feel okay on these topics, learning a lot, but not able to execute as well since I do not play basketball. One thing that will help is my aggressiveness, something that is unique and different. :)

1. you use this a lot. ,movement is key because if you don't move you wouldn't have scoring opportunities. also you can use different skills like dribbling to create space for a shot

2. when your attacking you should always be looking to score and always have a backup plan on your movement if something goes wrong. on defense since im tall id want to get low and slide my feet and when the shot goes up id want to contest it.

3. in the post footwork is really important and quickness. you would also would want to be deceptive and use something like a pump fake

4. setting screens is good to confuse the defence, reading the defense is really important as well because you'd want to have better scoring opportunities, and creating space is key for a better shot

1.) Fundamental skills and movement skills help you be able to get open and play good defense and be able to make shots.
2.) 1 on 1 skills help you to be able to score when there is a man guarding you and help you be able to guard your man.
3.) 2 on 2 skills help you to be able to score in the paint and be able t switch on defense. Also, it helps you with being able to see when your teammate is open and pass to them.
4.) 3 on 3 skills help you with running plays and helping out even when you dont have the ball. It also helps with being able to switch on defense and double teaming and trapping. It also helps with being able to find the open man on offense.

I feel fairly successful with each of these topics.

These skills help you personally become a better player and team player. I need to work on attacking and defending the basket.

1. Gives you the basics to protect that basketball from turnovers. Improves dribbling from getting the ball stolen away.

2. Improves offense and defense in the paint. Prevent points allowed inside the paint. Learning how to stop the offense close to the hoop.

3. Shows techniques on scoring inside the paint easily with the help of your teammates.

4. Technique to create space from the defender to get a better shot. Reading the defense makes your offense better because you know what to plan.

I feel the most successful with topic 4. Least successful on topic 2.

1. Fundamental skills and movement skills are needed because they're the base of basketball. Being able to dribble, pass, and shoot smoothly will help greatly because then you can do more.
2. 1 on 1 skills help because when it's 5 on 5, you will still end up facing off against a single person and your 1 on 1 skills will help you to get past that person or stop them.
3. 2 on 2 skills start to contain teamwork which is a big key to victory because then you have more possibilities and it's easier to get open with post moves.
4. 3 on 3 is also important because 5 on 5 is just a bigger 3 on 3. You have the same sets of skills used in 3 on 3, just on a bigger scale so there is more teamwork and more communication needed.
5. i feel comfortable with the teamwork but not with my fundamentals like shooting and 1 on 1 play.

1. Fundamental skills can help you move the ball around the court and score offensively as well as play good defense.

2.1 on 1 attacking and Defending the basket helps you drive into the basket and get more blocks defensively.

3.2 on 2 post moves can help you score easy layups in a 5 vs 5 play.

4.3 vs 3 setting screens will help your team mates get open in 5 vs 5.

5. I feel very successful with each topic

1. These skills are the most important, basic skills for players to master so that they can compete.
2. 1-on-1 helps players improve defensive skills and anticipate offensive moves to get the ball and score points.
3. 2-on-2 helps players learn to play as a team, read the defense, screen for each other, box-out, and rebound.
4. 3-on-3 helps players learn to set different screens, create space, pass the ball, and score points.
5. Very successful but always working to improve.

1. YOu need to be able to know how to get on
2. If you get on a 1v1 how to quickly move towards the basket and defend it
3. how to post up if you are playing in the paint
4.You need to know how to play with your team to get to the basket
I feel succesful on the 1on 1 and 2v2

All of these topics relate to 5vs5 because these are the basic skills of being a good player and a good team. Attacking helps get your teammates involved and get easy baskets. Post moves helps you get easy baskets in the paint. Defense helps you win games by stopping the opponents and then getting easy baskets. Movement helps you get good spacing. Picks help you get different and easy baskets.

1. I am relatively successful with my with my fundamental and movement skills being able to get open and score easily.
2. attacking the basket or shooting is no problem at all. Defense isn't a problem neither due to my somewhat quickness.
3. Post moves isn't my forte, so i don't very use those moves.
4. I set some screens during 3 on 3. reading the defense needs some work, and creating space wasn't much of an issue.

1. To play effectively on a team, every player must have solid fundamentals and the ability to move without the ball to space the floor on offense.

2. The ability to attack the basket is necessary for offenses to create space and draw the defense in. Similarly, defending the basket to prevent easy layups is the primary goal of a good team defense.

3.Post moves allow the team to take advantage of height and/or good spacing to finish at the rim.

4.Setting screens, reading the defense and other space creating techniques are vital to getting efficient offensive possessions and high quality shots.

Fundementals- so that we are capable of scoring and moving with the ball.
1v1- because it helps us understand how to move the defense and also teaches us how to play tight defense.
2v2- teaches us how to communicate with another teammate offensively and defensively.
3v3- teaches us how to spread the floor and work as a multiplayer cohesive unit. teaches us how to play off another player. helps talking on defense.
I feel extremely successful.

1) Fundamental skills, such as dribbling and passing and playing simple defense are important in 5 on 5 play because offensively, you have to be able to control the ball and distribute it while defensively, you have to be able to guard your man and prevent him from scoring effectively. Movement skills include moving with the ball and without the ball. In 5 on 5, moving with the ball helps you find open space to take your shot while moving without the ball helps space the floor and get you open for a shot.

2) 1 on 1 is important in 5 on 5 because it helps make sure you can drive to the basket and score on your man by yourself in case your other team mates are not open for a pass. On defense, it helps make sure you can effectively guard your man and keep them from scoring or rebounding.

3) 2 on 2 helps in 5 on 5 because with post moves, you can post up in the paint and then have your team mate pass you the ball and also on defense you can double team someone who you know requires extra defensive attention.

4) 3 on 3 helps in 5 on 5 because on offense, you can have team members set screens for you after which they either roll to the basket or you drive in and score yourself. In 3 on 3 , you have to read the defense to see where each defender is and accordingly what shot is best to take. This helps because in 5 on 5, you have to similarly read the defense and then make the appropriate play. In 3 on 3, you have to create space so that you or your team mate can score. This is the same in 5 on 5 where you have to create space so that you or your team mate can score as well.

Overall i feel really successful with these topics and the way I have implemented them into my game.

1. To do well, you have to be fundamentally sound. You need good footwork and ball handling to play well.
2. In 5 on 5, it is important to attack the basket because you can cause people top collapse on you which leaves others open. you also need to defend the basket from others scoring.
3. You also need strong post moves so that you can score easily. The point guard can pass the ball to you and then you can score.
4. Setting screens is also important so you can get your team mates open. You also need to create space so that your team mates can move around.
5. I feel i successfully execute most, if not all of these skills in my 5 on 5 play.

1) Fundamental and movement skills relate to 5-5 play because you need to have the basic ball handling and triple threat skills to be able to play properly

2) 1-1 helps with 5-5 because you learn to attack and defend the basket alone, and if you are able to do that alone, it will be easier with a team mate

3) 2-2 post moves and defense is important to 5-5 play because it teaches you how to begin to play with a team mate and trust one another

4) 3-3 play is important because setting screens and reading the defense first comes into play here. Learning to create space occurs at this level because it is when the court starts to become crowded with players

1Its necessary to maintain fundamental ball handling to do well in any game
2 one on one games are probably the most important to the game of basketball because it teaches all forms of skills and shows areas where improvement is needed
3 two on two is necessary to teach teamwork and compatibility with other players
4 three on three is great for learning rules and the workings of basically all other forms of bball

1. Fundamental skills are needed to be able to hold your own, and movement skills are needed to create your own shot when you do not have the ball.

2.1 on 1 basketball is important because while there is not any cherry picking, a fast break can cause a 1 on 1 situation that matters. Also because there are 1 on 1 matchups, when you are better than your defender and can just beat him, you easily make a 5 on 5 game a 4 on 5 game in your favor.

3.You cannot win on your own and what post moves allow you to do is just pass and enforce ball movement and dominant 1 on 1 offense. 2 man defense is important because then you can easily target multiple offenders and not have to be 1 on 2.

4. Three on three is the closest to 5 on 5 this year and it allows for the development of screen setting. Reading the defense involves the player to know when he or she can attack the basket or pass.

I think I would give myself a 4.5/5 in each of these categories and am probably better than nearly everyone in our class.

5v5 basics are useful to maintain possession of the ball run a proper defense.
1v1 is important to win against one defender and use your own skills
2v2 passing and basic plays
3v3 is the most important because this is where most of the offensive and defensive tactics come from

1.you need to know fundamental skills in order to play. you need good movement skills in order to play as a team and do good.

2. one on one skills help you to score when being guraded and it also helps you guard.

3. when playing 5 on 5 you can use post moves skills in a game.

4. setting screens is a good way to finish a game becasue a lot of times it can confuse the defence people. it also helps you learn how to play smart and how to create space.
