Period 2 Net Games

 
Due Date: Wednesday, December 12th


We are getting ready to start our badminton unit.  Please watch the video below that will give you a brief overview of badminton and answer the following questions.  Please put your name on your Blog.

 
 
1.  How tall is the net in badminton? How long is the net?
 

2.  Where do you serve from to start a badminton game?

3.  Who is the only person who can win a point in badminton?

4. How many points is a badminton game played to?

5.  How many sets is a game of badminton?

1. The regulation net is 5 feet 1 inch on the edges and 5 feet in the center. The net is 17-20 feet long, depending on whether the match is doubles or singles.

2. Stand within the proximity of your comfort level to the service line.

1) it is 5 ft 1 in on the edges and 5 ft in the center. It should be 17-20 ft long depending on doubles or singles.
2) Close to the service line, from the back right of your court, diagonally to the right side of the other side ct.

When serving, you should stand towards the front of the court and as close to the center line as possible, but not on the line.

The server.

1. The net itself is 5 feet and 1 inch tall on the sides and 5 feet tall in the center. It should be 20 feet wide.
2. To start a game, you serve from the back-right corner.
3. Only the server can win a point.
4. A game is played to 21 points.

1. The net is five feet and an inch on the edges and five feet in the center. The net is in the range of 17-20 feet long (depends on singles or doubles).
2. The player serves near the service line somewhere near the back-right hand corner of the court.
