We have started our 5 on 5 unit. We have discussed playing zone vs. playing a man to man defense. Explain how your defensive strategy can help make your team successful during this unit. Also, include what type of defense your team should play against each other team in class based on your teams strengths and weaknesses.

Choosing the right defensive strategy is important in 5 on 5's because we have more people to defend and more people to use to defend them, allowing us to try a more variety of strategies. A man to man defense is more suitable to my team than a zone defense because we are more accustomed to playing a man to man defense and a zone defense would distract people from focusing on the game by forcing them to stay in their areas and figure out who come into their zones and thus who to defend.

on my team the 3-2 strategy is the defensive strategy that we seem to be best at and it works against most of the teams. i think it is a struggle against UNC tho. we have to see if we can find another strategy to use against them.

Your defensive strategy is important in making your 5 on 5 team successful. A good defense prevents the opposing team from scoring a lot of points, allowing your team to keep up on the scoreboard. Based on our strengths and weaknesses, our team should play a 2-3 zone defense in order to compete with opposing teams.

your defensive strategy can be a huge decision in winning a game. It is important to choose the right defense to exploit mismatches or minimize the strenghts of the other teams. For example, if you are playing a team of pure athletes who are great drivers the strategy would be to play a zone and make them shoot jumpers to win the game. My team would be better suited to play a man to man because are team doesn't have the experience to know the rotations of a zone. is also gives them the ability to concentrate on one thing, their man, instead of an area or different assignments. We also have a very small team and in that case a zone defense wouldn't be affective for boxing out and rebounding.

defense is important because if you let them score on every point, then there's no way you can win. if we're playing a team with shooters, then we'd play 3-2 zone and if we're playing a team with height then we'd play 2-3. generally, we'd probably play a 2-3 because we have height

a zone defense is effectice if you are playing a quick athletic team who likes to score around the basket and in the paint. Man to man defense is good if you are playing a team with more shooters so you can focus on your man and prevent him from shooting. My team plays man to man because we are pretty athletic and can defend the other teams. Also most of the teams we play against shoot more than they drive so man to man is the appropriate defense for us in most cases.

Man to man defense allows each player to individually guard an opposing player with occasional help from your team mates if you begin to lose a hold of your player assignment. Zone defense (the defense my team should use) is a group effort or all 5 players on either team. Instead of guarding an individual player you guard a designated area on the court. Zone defense makes the opposing team have to pass the ball around more causing more opportunities for turnovers and shortens chances for mismatches.

i think our team should play zone defense because that is the best defense that a team can have and if that don`t work we could use another strategy but first we need to find out the weaknesses of the other team.

Zone and man to man have their strengths and weaknesses. Zone is good when we want to pressure a team shoot because they are bad at shots or do a layup because they are good at shots. we use man to man when we want to just evenly match up and we know that we can handle the person we are guarding. We should play a 3-2 zone because all of the teams have good shooters and we want to make them take a layup instead. If 3-2 zone is ineffective then we would switch to man because if we switched to 2-3 zone then everyone would be raining 3s on us.

Our team is pretty athletic and we have good match ups against other teams so we mostly play a man to man defense. zone defense is important when the other team has athletic players who like to drive since you have a lot of help.

My team is able to match up very well athletically against opponents because we are very balanced so i feel that a man to man scheme is most beneficial.
