Due Date: Friday, May 22nd
We are currently in our 5 on 5 unit and working on defensive strategies. Based on your class experience explain which type of defense you would use to play the other 3 teams in the class. Make sure to explain why you would play each team this particular way.

I would like to use a box and 1 because I think all 3 teams have a player that can easily score in a zone but using this style of defense we can stop that player from penetrating the zone by isolating him and locking off the other 4.

I like when my team plays man on man opposed to box 1 or triangle 2. We work better sticking to one person instead of a zone

I play on the the Cavaliers. When we play the Celtics, we would probably play a 3-2 defense because they all shoot the ball from the outside. When we play the Wizards, we would play a 2-3 because they like to drive to basket. When we play the Bulls, we would play a 3-2 also because they like to shoot from the outside.

in our 5 on 5 games i would you a 2-3 zone defense against each of the teams because i rather have the other team shoot a low percentage outside shot than get a high percentage shot inside the lane. A 2-3 zone would force a lot of 3 pointers which most kids in our class don't make that often.

i think that my team should play a box and one against Matt Paris's team and also against John Gillick's team because the both of them score the majority of there team's points. i would play man to man against the third team because we over match them at every position.

i would play triangle and 2 because i think each team has 2 players that are better and touch the ball more so i would put two defenders on them and play the triangle zone to cover the others.
I would say that man on man works best for my team playing against all three teams because it is easier for us to have to guard and worry about one person instead of watching out for other people like cutters and being there for help and things like that.

I like when we play zone just because the other teams have to take harder shots and since we have a small team, the defense makes it easier for us to get defensive rebounds.

Playing man to man works the best for our team beacuse we arent too diciplined to play a zone and stick to it. Its worked well so far and i think we should continue to use it.

i like the triangle one because it is new for me and its cool . . its like a zone with 2 guys guarding the top guys . . by the way i beat armon 53-51 the other day
i would play man on man cause it doesnt confuse on anyone, they just need to target one person and stay on them so they dont shoot.

I like my team to play man to man because that is what we have used this whole 5 on 5 unit and we have one a good amount of games. Our team works well in one on one situations so I think we should stick to what works.

i would like my team to use 2 3 zone because i would want the other team to shoot 3s rather than go towards the basket. A two three zone has more people inside and therefore doesnt allow that many drives to the basket.

I would play a 2-3 zone against most teams because most teams score the majority of their points driving to the basket and their aren't a lot of proven shooters in our class. I would have to reconsider my defense and possibly play man to man or a box and 1 against teams with good shooters like James or Scotty.
John Gillick
My team plays man to man because whenever we play zone someone always ends up with an open shot.

For the 5 on 5 games I would like to use the man to man defensive skill because it is easier for me. Man to Man is better to me because everyone has someone to block but the box in one is just harder for me. So I'd rather do the man to man defense skill.
i would like to play a 2-3 zone to force the other teams to shoot instead of driving and its also affective for rebounding because if they shoot a outside shot most likely the defense will get it if we box out
