Period 5 - Team Games

Due Date: Friday, May 22nd

We have just completed our flag football unit and we are starting our ultimate frisbee unit. Based on the different activities you have participated in this quarter explain how creating space and defensive strategy plays into being successful at a particular activity.

If you create space in these activities you will be able to catch without much pressure. A defensive strategy is we have people covering man on man at there speed level and when the frisbee or football comes near you you knock it down if you know you can't catch it.

Creating space and a defensive strategy plan is important because it opens up opportunities and the defensive plays close it up for the opponents.

Creating a defenseive strategy has been extremely helpful during our flag football unit. Without a defensive plan, we would not have been able to successfully stop the opponent's offense. Furthermore, with our defensive strategy, we were able to have a few interceptions. Creating space on our team allowed to cover every offensive man, and ensure a successful win. Without a defensive or space plan, we would not have been able to win several of our games.

Creating space and using defensing strategies are especially important for games such as handball and frisbee. Being in a open space is important because these games are all about passing. You cannot move with the ball so should always pass. Using good defensing strategies are important because when others pass, you want to intercept it. Passing allows you to get really close to another teams goal so it is important to keep your enemy from your goal by having good defense.

Creating space is beneficial to offensive success. If you effectivly create space, it becomes much more dificult for the defense to cover you. To play good d, everyone has to be on the same page. Either everyone has to play man or everyone has to play a zone.

Axel Martinez,
By creating space and using stratgies teams could communicate better and score points easier. Also, using srtatgies would slow down the other team.

Creating space and defensive tactics are a vital part of a well functioning team. By creating space you can find your teammates and continue to maintain possesion. Defensive strategy is key because everyone needs to be working together to prevent the other team from scoring. Defense is a team effort.

Creating Space is a big deal in activities like football and soccer, it gives player running room (literally) and mental room (metaphorically) allowing them to think easier and with less pressure. Also, having a good deffence strategy ALWAYS helps, like "a good offence is a good defence" as long as the opposing team doesnt get past us, we'll be getting past THEM.

Creating space in any team game is important because if everyone is crowded together, it is much harder to advance to the goal. It is also much easier for the opponent team to steal the ball if everyone is near each other. Having an effective defense is also important because obviously, it prevents the other team from scoring, and your own team can keep possession of the ball.

By creating space you get open, and by getting open you have a better chance to attack up the field. In other words you have to go north and south, not east and west. If you dont get open you cant attack the defense, which means you cant score. On defense you havet to try and keep your opponent from advancing the ball or frisbee. You want to force them to go east to west.

In team games like Football and Frisbee, creating space is important for passing to team mates. When getting open to catch a frisbee or a football, you need to have enough space so that you can catch the ball without the other team knocking it down or intercepting it. On defense you want to cover the receiver you are guarding very closely so that they do not get the space to easily catch a pass. You want to be able to stop them from getting a reception in order to be successful.

creating a denfensive strategy plan cause it inportant to open up ways and other thangs for the opponents.

creating space helps because it throws off the other team and lets you pass while the other team chases the frisbee and gets worn down. Also you need defencive plays so that on defence everyone is coverd and make it so the other team has a hard time passing.

Creating a space makes it easier to make passes in ultimate frisbee, and defensive stratagies of covering all opposing players makes it difficult for them to pass and to score

creating space during offensive strategies is key because if theres no space between you and the d ur going to get intercepted or tackled and your gonna be under so much pressure your team communication will break. space in defensive plays is equally as important, you need to keep your defense tight, or if your playing man to man, your man has to be trying to stay close to the other player putting pressure, trying to make interceptions and just messing up their communication.

Creating space extends the range on offense, and also provides more options on strategy, which the offense team can take the initiative easily. Defense strategy is basically the way that the defense team limits the space of the offense team, and how quickly the defense team can change its defense strategy based on its opponent's formation.

Based on what we have done in the past quarter, creating space is vital. Space is important because you cannot find the open man without it. Defensive plays are just as important because if one man screws up..it's the other team who's scoring, and you don't want that.

Creating space in this particular sport has to be used because you are not allowed to move with the frisbee. It also helps move the frisbee down the field when there is more space when you pass it. Defensive stragedy helps play an important role so you and your team can help get the frisbee into yoyr hands. Azam A

Creating space on offence allows for better oppurtunities to try to score a touchdown. Defensive strategy is key to winning because if the opposing team cant score on your defense, you can't lose.

I am bad at sports. i do not know the answer to the question. space is bad. we should bunch up as much as possible. I call that the "swarm" technique. I love you Ms. Dyer

Benjy Sokobin

P.S. the real answer to the question is another question. What doesnt space do? it opens up room. it gives you the freedom to move around and make passes through the defense. There is no such thing as a defensive strategy

Creating space is the key to scoring, but if we want to win games we have to have a solid D. If we spread out the other teams defense by creating space then we will be able to get open better as multiple people cut in and out after the other teams defense is spread. I think in order to have a good defense my team needs to have a zone defense with areas to cover specified for each person. Also if the other team has any above average players then we need to lock that person off with close man coverage or double coverage.

Creating space makes the quarterback able to pass to a variety of poeple instead of passing to a clump of people who all want the ball. Having a defensive strategy prohibits the offense from advancing, and ultiamtely returns the frisbee/ball back to you so your team can score.

Creating space is key to scoring, but if my team wants to win games in ultimate Frisbee, it is up to our defense to do so. We may not be that great at Frisbee (especially me), but it does not take skill to have a solid D, it takes good teamwork and communication. I think the best way to play defense is in a zone where each player knows exactly what their specified area is. We also need to spread the other teams defense out by creating space and finding lanes to cut.

If you can create space then you can easily succeed in football and ultimate frisbee, because it allows the receivers to catch and run for touchdowns, and defense wins championships its more important than offense

Sorry this blog is so late Mrs.Dyer.
Creating space in a sport is very important because space forces the opposing team's defense to spread out so that it can cover all the open space. In Ultimate Frisbee, without space, the frisbee will only be constantly be knocked down and little or no progress will be made.
