We are currently in our 5 on 5 unit and working on defensive strategies. Based on your class experience explain which type of defense you would use to play the other 3 teams in the class. Make sure to explain why you would play each team this particular way.

When we face the Celtics we usually play zone because their strengths are big men like Connor so we can afford to leave men open on the outside. For the 76ers we have to play man to man because Stephen and Max will make all of their shots if we don't guard them closely. For the Wizards we play zone because Greg usually drives in for a layup and by playing zone it's hard for him to make it.

the best defense to play is the triangle and 2 because each team has at least 2 good scorers that need 1 on 1 coverage.
even though i am not playing, i would play a box and 1 against every team to make the other players on the team have to score to win and try to contain their best player w my by defender
Against the Nets we play and box and 1 because that way we will always have someone on casey and let the other players beat us. Against the Celtics we play a triangle and 2 to stop connor and taariq. Against the 76ers we play a 3-2 to stop the outside shooting of stephen and his other teammates can shoot.

our team likes to play man to man with evenly matched players but with the teams with a few playmakers we play a triangle defense with two men playing the playmakers man to man
When playing 5 on 5, i believe that man to man defense is the strongest defense to be played. Although, they are some teams that my team may need to change defenses. Against the Wizards, man to man would be the strongest. This is because they do not have any superstars although they do have some good outside shooters. this will encourage them to use their weakness and drive to the basket. Against the Nets and 76ers, a 2-3 zone defense would be the strongest. This is because the 76ers have a very quick player named Stephen Ho and the Nets have Casey that is a very good scorer around the basket. This will encourage their outside shot and will give us a better shot to win.

for the celtics i would use a man to man defense because the players on our team are able to gaurd another person on their team without a problem. against the lakers i would use a a box and 1 defense because they have one player who does everything. against the knicks i would use a 1-3-1 defense because they do not have any shooters

I would play a 2-3 or 3-2 zone because its the easiest defense to play. Also it always make the team shoot uncontested shots because it's too hard for them to drive while the defense is playing a zone
We would play a box and 1 defense to cover their best player all the time. This would prevent their best player from being effective and give us a better chance of winning.
We usually play zone and man to man for evrey team we just try to mix it up a little and it actually works

I would play a triangle and two because every team in our class has atleast 2 good players, so you would one on one cover the 2 best players, and have the remaining 3 defenders play a zone. - Max Ambrosino
My team, the New Jersey Nets always play man to man. I have great confidense in my teammates to stay with there man and strap up. If my teammates do need help i shift to the middle to stop penatration. I like to let teams beat us by the outside shot if they can although my team is tooo good to lose and will win the ship.

The best defense is the triangle and two because you can always keep a man on the opposing teams best two players. It also give you a good chance to get defensive boards when the opposing team takes a 3 pointer with one of their bad players.

I think the best strategie for my team to use is the box 1 strategie for every team. This leaves our opponents to shoot outside rather than having the strong players drive to the net.
I would play a box and 1 against every team except for the Celtics because they have Connor and Tariq who should both be covered man to man.

The best defence to play is 3-2 or 2-3. Most teams have multiple shooters so we should play 3-2 on them, for they dont normal drive. The other teams have two people who are good at driving. so for these teams we must play 2-3 for help defence.

our team is full of lock down defenders so it is beneficial for us to play man to man defense. We run the floor well and pressure the ball well in the front court.

our team would do best in a zone defense, 3-2 because we could have connor and eric down low cuz they are tall and me tyrek, and cameron up top . we cant play man to man because our team isn't quick enough and lack coordination

For the Nets, I think the box and one would be the best defensive scheme as hopefully, this will be able to contain Casey, who is the main go-to scorer. When playing against the 76ers, I think the 2-3 scheme can contain the shooters, who are mainly Stephen and Max, and when they drive to the basket, there will be people to rotate over to help (combination of zone and 2-3). Lastly, the Celtics offense is best suited to a 3-2 scheme, because they have an inside presence who carries the bulk of the team's scoring.

For all the teams i would use a 1-3-1 defense. All the teams have a majority of people that like to shoot with few that like to drive. If you us ea 1-3-1 strategy then your forcing players to drive when they don't want to. This causes them to take shot that they are not comfortable with, increasing the chance that they will miss and give you more scoring oppertunities.
we would play against the nets with a 3 and 2 or man to man because they have a lot of shooters. We would play 76ers with a two and 3 because they have a lot of big men. We would play the lakers with a triangle and 1 because they have one strong man.
for the nets we would use a box and 1 on casey because he is there best scorer. against the 76ers we would use man to man becauser they have better shoters than the rest of the teams. against the celtics we would use a triangle and 2 on connor and taariq because they are the major scorers.

The best defense is a triangle 2. Mrs. Dyer set the game up so that every team has two capable scorers. If you guard the two dominant players, you will minimize the damage and have the best chance at success.
i would play a box and one because there is usually one guy on each team that is really good that needs to be guarded at all times. Also the box and one makes the other team do outside shooting and most teams will miss the outside shot compared to the easy inside shots.

i would play caseys team in a 3-2 because he is a shotting threat. i would play stevens team in a 2-3 because hes a driving threat. i would play marks team triangle and 2 because mark can drive and greg can shoot.
Even though I dont play during the 5 on 5 games, the defense i would play would be man to man because you can match up with players that you can guard.
