We are currently in our 1 on 1 unit. We have discussed triple threat and several ways to create space or separation from your opponent in class. Please watch the video clip below of Jeremy Lin competing against John Wall in a 2010 summer league game. Please name 2 ways that Jeremy Lin created space or was able to get to the basket. Be specific when you name a move that he used. Also, explain how his ability to read the defense allowed him to be so successful in this game.
Welcome to Mrs. Dyer's PE Blog. The purpose of this blog is to provide feedback on what is going on in class, as well as to provide answers to questions that relate to what we are learning in class. Feel free to post your opinions, comments, ect. but remember this is a school activity so keep it clean.

jeremy lin has a plethora of moves he can choose from to use against nba teams such as the cross over dribble and the step back shot all these moves allow him to create space from his players and make his shots. his ability to read the defense makes him more of a threat to the other team bc he knows when to drive and when to shot both he can be successful at.

Lin used his quick crossover to stun the defense then blew by them with his quickness to get to the basketball
-Clement Zhang
Lin used triple threat and the jab step to trick the opponent into thinking he would make a jump shot or he would go in for a layup. Lin could tell that if the opponent moved back, he could do a jump shot, or if the opponent moved forward to guard him, he could run around him and make a layup. -Samantha Strauss
Jason Bernard
Lin used the crossover and an escape move to gain space with defense most of the time. Also he reads the defense so well that he always knows what move will give him that extra step and stay ahead.
Garrett Hardy
I noticed that Jeremy Lin creates space by swiching hands while going to the basket against John Wall, he also used the double clutch layup ( 2:15 ) but he could not have done that unless he Jabsteped the way he did. He used that great spin move but didn't get the bucket hahahahahahaha ( 3:06 )
1. He creates space by consantly moving.
2. He also creates space by using picks.
Langston Thomas
He used a cross over move to fake the opponent out. He then had a very fast first step, giving him space between the opponent. While driving, he used his body to protect the ball, and went up with a strong layup. When he had the ball, he noticed the defence had a little awkard footing, so he took advantage of that by driving, thus scoring the point.
- Joseph Wobus
I noticed that Jeremy Lin effectively used the cross over to give himself space from the defenders. He also used a spin which helped him to gain space. Finally he used picks, and good jab steps to gain space.
-Rayan Mahabadi
Jeremy Lin used a crossover dribble and he also used a switch handed layup(2:17). Lin's ability to read the defense gave him the ability to juke out the defense causing opening to appear so he could make the play.
- Jack Fisk
He uses a crossover to quickly change direction and, he uses a jab-step strong-side drive to get to the basket.
-Max Jin
He uses a crossover to quickly change directions, and he uses a jab step strong-side-drive to get to the basket.
-Max Jin
Lei Zeng
Lin used the cross over and the jab step. His quickness allows him to split between 2 defenders or spin around them.
he used triple threat to make it look like he was going to make the jumpshot.
also he keeps moving around to make space and to find a good spot to make a shot
Shayna Golfer
Out of his arsenal of skills to penetrate to the basket, two of Lin's most effective moves were his jab step used drive on the strong side (2:18) and his spin move to get past larger defenders (3:35).
Lin's ability to read the defense has allowed him to be successful by quickly identifying passing lanes (53 sec) and driving lanes to attack the rim.
-Serban Negoita
Kwame Frimpong
He creates space by cutting towards the basket and also using his crossovers to cushion the amount of space he has.
1. Creating Space by using picks, A very decpetive crossover and quick spin move also going into the picks and making his way to the basket - Jaime Dacosta
Jeremy Lin used crossover and stepback to beat John Wall and score. When he drives he uses his ability to read the defense to know when to lay it up or pass it
Kyle Rampp
Lin uses many moves to create space. triple threat jab, escape and crossover. he creates space very weel and it is very effective
Nicky Motazedi
Lin used the cross over to complement his quickness to blow by deffenders and get the bucket
Zack Thompson
