We are wrapping up our flag football unit and we are getting ready to start our ultimate frisbee unit. Based on the different activities you have participated in this quarter explain how creating space and defensive strategy plays into being successful at a particular activity.

in flag football it is a good idea to keep space between the person you are covering so the quarterback will think to throw to them but not enough to make the catch for them be easy and so you can defend somewhere else if you need to

Creating space in any team sport is essential in the success of the team. It allows for an easy throw and reception, as well as progresses the team closer to their objective.
While the team has to play offense in order to score, preventing the opposing team from scoring is as equally important because if you score at least once and they never can, how can they win?

Creating space is a vital part of all sports; you need to play the boundaries in order to make the field wider. Otherwise, there is a lot of congestion. Also, this is tactically beneficial; the ball never gets tired, but you do. It is not practical to take on the other team by yourself. Making space allows for easier passing and helps other teamates without the ball to come to a supporting position. Defensive strategy not only helps your team maintain possession or steal it from the other team, but it also helps offensively. Good defensive tactics allows you to quickly clear the ball up field.
Defense is important because it makes it harder for the opposing team to score. It is also good to have a balance of defense and offense on your team when playing a sport such as football or handball. Also creating space is good so you can spread out your defense so they can each focus on one person to guard.

It is proven sucessful in many ways. In football, if you keep a defensive stragey in place, then the opposing team will have a hardtime getting yeards because each person has their own "man" to guard. By creating space you have more plays to work with and you have a more open space for you to give the ball to your team. By creating space the person with the ball has a wider area to pass and shoot. Thus if one teammate isn’t open then the other one might be open. Using defensive strategy is important because one of the goals in a sport is preventing the opposing offense from scoring points. It is important to have a good offense but a defense helps the team maintain their points and helps them overall in goal guarding.
Creating space and various defensive strategy plays have to be taken account to to be successful. In football, open space has to be obtained to reduce possibilities of an interception or incomplete pass, while a defense strategy has to be used to prevent the other team from gaining yardage. In handball, it is much similar, as open space must be obtained to pass the ball.

It is easier to throw and revive a pass in open space then in a crowded area. Therefor if you move to open space it is more likely that that you will revive a successful pass. Another reason that creating space is important is that if you are in open space when you receive the ball in open space it will be easier and safer to run the ball.
Defensive strategy is also essential in order for a team to be successful.
Defensive strategy allows your team to get the ball back so that you can score more. It also allows your team to prevent the other team from scoring. Even if the offense is not great and can only score one point, If the defense is strong and prevents the opponent from scoring any points then your team will win!
In football if the defensive strategy is good and prevents the opponent from gaining any yardage then the offense has to do less work in order to get a touch down.
once your team creates space between players, many more options become apparent to the quarterback and each of those options gains a higher chance of success. this can greatly increase your ability to be successful in flag football because then you have more opportunities to win and can perform it more easily.

In any team sport, is it necessary to create space and have proper defensive strategies. Without defensive strategies, the opposing team will have an easier way of scoring. If each player is in charge of guarding one person from the opposing team, the game will become much more interesting and challenging. Without effective space, making goals is almost impossible.
