In our 3 on 3 unit we have discussed several ways to create space on offense to get open. Please explain how to correctly use a pick and roll, a curl, or a fade to create space from the defender. How important do you think it is to be able to read the defense? Why?

pick an roll is one person in the middle. an 2 on the sides. the two takes a v-cut in side the base line comes out an one of them gets the ball now the person who passes the ball runs an stops bout 5 feet away to the person with out the ball he sets a pick then rolls in the shoulder thats bumped an gets an easy lay up unless he misses then he's blown an off the team

you basically pass the ball and screen away the person who dont get the ball set a screen then you open up ball side and get wide
to succesfully use the pick and roll, 1st off you need EJ on your team because i am the best player in the clas, second off you need to use the v cut, then pass it to the open man, then set a pick so the other man can have an open lane to the basket. its important to be able to read the defense because if the other team has someone like EJ on their team its gonna be to easy for them to steal it or stop the pick and roll from happening.

the first thing you do in a pick and role is a v-cut then the player at point passes to the open wing player and picks away after his teamate comes off his shoulder he should drop his foot and seal the defender. it is important to read the defense because you have to tell what play will be the most effective.

A pick and roll is where a player who doesn't have the ball sets a pick for a teammate and then rolls to the basket sealing the defender with his back to get an easy layup. It is important for you to read defenses so you know what plays will be affective against that particular defense.

we have to work on the v cut and pass the ball the right way so that the teammate whos soppose to go for the lay up has a easier time to do so.

There are many steps to perform a successful pick a roll move. First team mates on both sides must V-cut down and pop back up for the ball. The point guard decides who to pass to and must pick to the man opposite to where he threw the ball. The man must roll of the shoulder of the point guard and make a cut to the hoop. It is important to be able to read a defense for situations where a certain play will be affective on a specific type of defense

pick & roll: teammate sets a pick for you, then cuts to the basket to get passed to.
it is important to read the defense because the offense needs to see the defense's weakness in order to be able to score

You got to create space for the denfender that making the pick, then you have to make a v-cut for pick and roll, the guy that holding the ball have to make a roll after the the one that is pick, to go directly under the basket for an easy layup.

A pick and roll is executed succesfully by the person who doesnt have the ball sets a screen for his teammate then he rolls to the basket by sealing his back and open up to the basket after the screen is set. Its important to read a defence because that team might be running the same set plays as your own team and if you are mentally dialed in to the game then you can know how to stop them from executing it.

to correctly do a pick and rool, first you need the screener to set a solid pick and not move his feet. Second, the ball handler needs to use the pick correctly and run his defender into it. In a curl, it is the same thing, except the man getting the pick does not have the ball, but he still needs to run his defender into it to create space. It is very important to read the defense because if the defender anticipates the screens and cheats on it, you can go through the other side of the screener and get your defender lost and get an easy basket. The next time the defender wont kno what you are doing.

to correctly use the pick and roll the wings need to v cut the pg will pass to the open one and set a pick for the other and then roll toward the basket. It is very important to read the defense because you need to know if the person who rolled is open or the person scread is opened for a jump shot or drive.

To use the pick and roll you have to v-cut to get open and then pick the person with the ball and stand steady then roll towards the basket for an open pass. This fade will create space or even a back door opportunity. It is important to be able to read the defense so you know what offense to perform and how to beat the defense and score.
