Period 1 Basketball

Due Date: Tuesday, November 22nd

We are currently in our basketball 3 on 3 unit. Based on your own basketball experiences, as well as what you have learned so far in class, what are three strengths that your 3 on 3 team must possess to be successful? Why?

Teamwork and trying to win. If everyone just stands there and is not really playing d then you'll lose. Paying attention to what other people are doing. Missing a pass when its right under the basket could cost a point. Not giving up. When people see the other team is winning they start to not play and that wouldn't work when your playing 3 on 3 because it needs everyone on the team to win.

Fist of all, the team must play as a team. Everyone needs to understand that the cooperation is the most important value during a game. Furthermore, the players need to move fast so they are going to be able to pass the ball to each other in a energetic and dominant way. This strategy will help the team to paley in a very flexible and successful system.
The third strenght is the defence which is very important for the success. Each player must be always carefull during the game. Even if the attacking tactic is wrong, the team has an oppertunity to win the game if the defence is <>.

1.We need to make three's in order to be success because they will help us stay in/win close games
2.We need to rebound well so that we can create opportunities for scoring and not give the other team too many
3.Last, we need to distribute the ball well to all the teammates so that we can capitalize on open teammates

My weaknesses in volleyball:
-little confusion on when the ball comes across my boundaries.
-an upward pass

My plans to fix these problems is to give a call to my team mates when I am going to hit the ball, and to practice my upward pass.

1) We must posses the ability to shoot the outside shot. If we can draw in the defense with a drive, it would be great if we could kick the ball out for an open three.
2) We must be able to play good man-to-man defense, or else players will be running away for open baskets.
3) We must be able to rebound the ball. Although we can't get every rebound, it would benefit us greatly if we could get second shot opportunities and limit the other teams ability to get the ball back.

Our team must be good at moving without tha ball, we need to do a good job at boxing out and rebounnding, and we need to drive to get easier shots and open up people for outside shots.

Three strengths that a team must have is good passing, teamwork (ex: pick and roll)and involving every player. Each of these three strengths maximizes the number of shots that the team can get. The more shots, the more possible points.

1. we must have good shooting because we need points to win

@. we need to have good defensive skills so we can take the ball from the opposing team.

3. we have to be good passers so we can easily get the ball to the right position to score a point.

Our team must have a strong defense so we can force turnovers and prevent them from scoring fewer points. Our team also must be well-rounded so we have plenty of options to score points and get offensive rebounds. Our team must also have strong offense so we score points and take care of the basketball.

To be successful, our team must use different ways to get open. For example, we could do a V-cut to mislead the defender. Also, we could do a pic-and-roll to get open. Finally, our team must be ready to get the rebound off a shot so we can control the ball for a longer amount of time.

1. Teamwork...with three players on your team there will be more shots created when you move the ball around

2. Setting screens...this will let your teamates get open and you can use the pick and roll

3. Good passing...if you aren't giving good passes when your moving the ball then it won't be beneficial

my team posseses really good passing skills and me as the rebounder. i believe that my team is successful in many ways.

1. pick n roll, definitely work for teams like mine, don't need big man or miracle shot makers, just simple communication skills.

2. turnovers. turnovers are not allowed during a half court 3v3 game, it's just like giving out free shots since opponent can steal and end a fast break in 2 seconds.

3.defends. u r not going anywhere without this.

1. each man must have a specific duty such as a gaurd, rebounder, 3 point shooter...
2. There must be communication between team mates in order to receive information and to play good as a team.
3.motivation. the team should always be nervous but ready for the game, the feeling of winning always drives a person to do so.

In order to be successful, a basketball team must have teamwork, skill, and play good defense. Teamwork is important because no one person can beat an entire team by him/herself. Skill is important because your team cannot score without being able to shoot or beat a defender. Defense is important because otherwise, the opposing team can just make an easy lay-up.

My team needs to be good at three things to win every game.
1.) We need to make three's. If you have a team that can make three's then you can quickly take a big lead or come back quickly, because they are worth 2 points not one.
2.) We need to get rebounds. If we get a lot of rebounds then we can but it back for a quick point, or we can prevent the other time from doing the same thing.
3.) We need to a lot of teamwork, like a well oiled machine. It we have good teamwork then we come pass it around till we find some one who is open or we could run plays.

Three strengths our team needs to have is good teamwork and passing so that if someone is in a better position to shoot it’s important that the ball gets passed to him. It’s also important that our shots are accurate so that we can score more points. Good man-to-man defense is another strength because that way it’s harder for the other team to get the ball moving around by making sure the other players are not open.

we need defense becuase we want to stop them from scoring.and offense so we can get points to beat them and our passing.james rowe

My team must be succesful in passing the ball, making their lay-ups , and try to get turnovers on defense. Passing the ball would be 1 of the 3 strengths because passing the ball eficiently will cause the defense to become tired. Making lay-ups will help the team offensivly. and getting turmovers is a good stength because then we always get the ball on offense.

Our team must posses having three players on the court, knowing whether to shoot or drive, and knowing who to match up with on defense. Our team has only had 3 players playing 4 times and we are a much better teams and we only win when we have 3 players out on the court. When we have 2 play 2 on 2 the other team gets their 2 best players and get a mismatch and can out play us with a bad match on defense. Also, when we play 2 on 2 the other team can rotate causing us to change all our defense matchups and whetehr or not we can shoot over our opponent or have to drive to the basket.

I believe that in order for my team to be successful we need to gain teamwork, ball handling, and our layups. If our team had these 3 things we could fast quick and one step a head than the other team. This means no more random shots when someone is in a better position!!

the first thing my team needs to do to win more is we need to start making more shots because we miss a lot sometimes. The second thing we need to do is pass the ball more because sometimes we ballhog. The third thing me and my team need to work on is getting open more because sometimes we stand around waiting for the ball to come to us.

Our three on three team needs to know when to shoot a high quality shot like a layup and when to go directly for the low percentage shot like the three pointer. Because we are all three point and long range shooters, we have a tendency to shoot hard shots even under huge pressures. If one player gives up their chance to score a three pointer but another gets to score a easy layup, then our team would work fine.

One, you need teamwork. If you can't cooperate at all, you won't be able to do anything (even in non-sports situations)
Second, you need proper knowledge of the sport. It's very costly if you make clumsy mistakes such as double dribbles that could cost your team a game.
Third, you need ball handling and maneuvering skill and strategy (ie pass distribution, strategic rebounds, and simply getting open for the ball).

three on three teams need accurate shooting to score more points, good rebounding to get or keep control over the ball, and teamwork so you can take advantage of teammates' strengths to strengthen the team overall

Teamwork is very important. The players need tI work together in order to make plays and get open for the shot. Rebounding is also important because if one team gets all the rebounds, then the other team will rarely have a chance to shoot the ball. Finally, communication is key. If a team doesn't communicate, then the ball will get stolen a lot a no points will be scored.
