Period 6- Team Games

Due Date: Wednesday, September 18th
Please watch the video clip below about football positions and offensive strategies. Please answer the following questions after viewing the video clip. Make sure to put your name on your assignment.



1. What do tight ends do in a high school football game?

2. What positions would the fastest members of the team play?

3. What are 2 advantages of running a pro set or split back offense?

4. After watching the video clip and grasping a better understanding of positions, please list your team members and name the position that you think they are most successful at. Please don't forget to include yourself.

  1. 1) A tight end is supposed to block for the quarterback and to be an emergency outlet receiver if the other receivers are not open.
    2) The fastest positions on a team would be the wide receivers.
    3) It is very versatile because it allows that team to either make a running play or a passing play.

    1. A player who is either used to block pass rushers or receive passes

    2. The half back and the wide receivers are the fastest players on the team

    3. Splitbacks work to the offensive advantage because the offense can easily pass or run and the defense can't know which play the offense will use

    1. They are a mix between a blocker and a pass receiver.

    2. Running backs as well as wide receiver's.

    3. Pro set and split back offense's confuse the other team. The opposing team won't know what play is being run. Running backs mainly go out for short, quick passes when their not running the ball.
