We are getting ready to start our 5 on 5 unit. Explain how your defensive strategy can help make your team successful during this unit. Also, include what type of defense your team should play based on your teams strengths and weaknesses.

Defensive strategy can help us be succesful by making sure that we stay in close games by playing good defense and not letting the other team score on every possesion. I think our team should play man defense because we are not the tallest team and it would be difficult to recover if someone got by because of their height

I belive that if we play closer deffence we will succeed, because all it takes is one person to slack behind and lose there man as now we play full court. Our team is very tall so we will be able to get good easy rebounds.

ReplyDeleteIt is visible that our team has many more weaknesses than strengths. So, the type of defense that we should play is the zone defense. It is clearly visible that we are unable to play man to man, bacause we not fast and we do not know how to respond at the defense movement. if we play zone we will be able to <> the other team's players and furthermore, we will organize ourselves and play better.

ReplyDeleteOur defensive strategy can help our team go on a 5-0 or a 3-0 run and get a stable lead. My team presses a lot but other ways we play man but make sure to play help defense as well so we don;t get beat as much in the lane.
Our defensive strategy could very much decide whether we win games or not. If we can communicate and play tight D, we can limit the amount of baskets the other team makes. Since we are one of the shorter teams, we should play man-to-man when it comes to a smaller sized team, but when they are bigger, we can play zone or just help each other out.

Stealing the ball is a good strategy for me to help my team. We should try to stop them on the 3 point line and try to mess up their rhythm then prevent them from passing with 1 on 1 defence. If the other team is good at driving we should put 3 people under the basket and if they're good at shooting we should put 3 on the 3 point line.

ReplyDeleteOur team mostly plays a zone defense and i think it helps a lot to play zone because we dont have many good players on our team. i think if keep playing zone defense, then we'll create more turnovers and score our points.
Having a good defensive game plan can really mean the difference between losing and winning a game. There are two different types of defensive play....zone and man. If a team is good at driving then zone would be the better choice. If the team takes three point shots then man would be better. There are many formations of zone too, for example the tall can stand under the basket for rebounds. For man, you may want to choose a tall player to get another tall offensive player
ReplyDeleteBy choosing a certain type of zone defense or a man defense, we can best defend against the opposing team. If we are to do a man defense, which should be successful, we would be able to defend a certain person around our skill level, rather than various different people in a zone defense. Because our team is generally made of tall people, a man defense is effective because the players can be easily matched. On the other hand if we play a zone defense more teamwork is required because every teammate has to be at the court for this method to be successful. Based on our weaknesses, I believe a man defense is more effective because not everyone retreats immediately when the opposing team obtains the ball.

Because our team can score really quickly whether in the post or from three point range, our offense is really consistent game to game. It is the defense that allows the other team to score so many points. After we rush and score, there are no players willing to play defense. We should play 2-3 zone due to the fact that it would force others to shoot lower percentage shots while we drive and take the higher percentage layups.

By choosing the right defense strategy, my team can be more successful and stop the other team from scoring and also make it harder for them to drive and move the ball around. My teams strengths are that we have a lot of tall people who are good at getting rebounds and we are good at matching up with people who are around our skill level. Because of this, my team should play a man-to-man defense in most of its games instead of a zone defense. One of our weaknesses is that we are not very fast, so sometimes if the other team is a lot faster or good at driving, playing a zone defense can be more effective.

ReplyDeleteMy team is using the 3 bottom 2 top defense stratgie, the guards are playing just shoot and go back to defence. This is efficient because we are a team that most accurate with fast break.

ReplyDeleteDefense is important because we will never win if the other team can easily score on every possession. Our team should play a 2-3 zone because we are not tall and no one player can guard the lane by him/herself.

ReplyDeleteOur teams defensive strategy will help our team keep the other team from scoring. The best strategy for our team is man to man. This enables us to break up passes and get more fast breaks. It also stops other teams perimeter shooting.
I think my team should play a 2-3 defense because most of the points scored against us are lay-ups. Also, my team has strong rebounders so more players down low will give us a greater chance of grabbing the rebound. We aren't too good at sticking to our player in man-to-man defense, so 2-3'will most likely work.

ReplyDeleteDefensive strategy will prevent oncoming attackers from reaching the hoop and shooting. My team can variate due to our flexibility, but my opinion is to guard man - on - man since you could zone out if your are playing zone defense.
A great defensive strategy is the difference between losing and winning games. Our team plays man on man because we have some fast players and great rebounders. If we stop the other team, get rebounds, and score it will be an easy game to win.

ReplyDeleteHaving a good defensive strategy is definitely a big part in winning games because if my team's defense is good, then the opposing won't score and therefore won't win. The best suited defense for our team is zone because we are not always the best at determining what an opposing player's move idea is. If we play zone, it will be harder for a team to drive, but also harder to shoot the three if we play the right zone.
