General PE Period 3

Due Date: October 20th

Based on the different invasion games you are learning and participating in during this unit (flag football, basketball, soccer, and ultimate frisbee) what are similarities between the sports we have done?

  1. Based on the invasion games we have been doing this unit, the similarities are that they all include control over position of the ball or Frisbee. Also, they all require that you are always working with your team mates to score points, meaning you pass the ball to others.

  2. Dear Ms.Dyer,
In the invasion games, I saw that a simalarity is trying to keep possesion of the object. I also think that teamwork is another important part of invasion games.

The similarites in all the invasion sports are the goals, passing, and teamwork. All sports have goals in which the ball or frisbee must be in to win. Passing, since in all sports to advance in the field you have to pass. Lastly teamwork, because a single person cannot win alone in any of these sports

These invasion games all are similar to each other because they all require you to work as a team with your team mates and you can't win the games by yourself.

  5. The main thing that is the same between the sports is how you have to work as a team and have good communication in order to win. You also need to be able to trust other teamates on doing their job and not trying to do everything your self.

All of the invasion sports involve invading the opponents (your opposite side) side of the pitch to score points (touchdowns, goals...) for our team. So a lot of running and passing is done.

The obvious similarity between all the sports that we have played is that we are "invading" the opponents territory or space in oder to shoot a basket, score a touchdown, score a goal, etc. Another similarity i see in the game is that you have to make a move, to beat your opponent.

  8. The similarities between the games we have played are that there is always a team trying to score a point(s) against another team. Also, they both involve passing and catching. In frisbee and football you are trying to throw the ball or disc to a teammate in the endzone. In basketball and soccer, you have to get the ball to go into a net in order to score for your team.

  9. All of these sports involve passing a ball or disc down a field or court to your team mates in order to score on the other teams side for a point. All of these invasion games require teamwork and cooperation. The better the team works together, the more able they are to pass to each other and score points.

  10. Between basketball, soccer, flag football, and ultimate frisbee, they all involve marking someone to make sure that they don't acheive whatever goal they're trying to acheive or you are trying to acheive a goal (touchdown, goal, a made basket, etc.)

One very important theme in invasion games is maintaining possession. To maintain possession, a team must either pass or run the ball. Another similarity is teamwork. No one person can get points for his team all by himself. The team must work together to successfully and consistently gain points.

  12. In the four invasion games that we are participating in, there are a couple of similarities within the games. In each game, we must pass to the other teammates, maintain possession of the ball/frisbee, and have good teamwork.

Based the on the invasion games we have played so far, there are many similarities between the sports. In the invasion games we learned, we have to "mark our person", where we choose a person from the other team to watch out for when we are defending the opponents from getting a score. Also, all these sports have transitions between defense and offense. When we have the pocession of the ball, the opponent is on defense and viceversa.

The similarities between the sports is the ultimate goal, to earn the most point by scoring, by either passing the ball into a goal or throwing and running to an endzone. Also all the sports required maintaining possession in order to win.

The sports we are playing this unit all depend on team work. We have to work together to win the game. All of the invasion games we are playing depend on more than one person, it's a team effort.

  18. The sports we have played this week have all similarities. They all have to do with looking for open space, controling, and of course playing as a team. Another relationship between these sports is that we have to move and talk together as a team, and lastly we all had to play our positions.

The similarities on the invasion games that we have been doing during this unit is possesion of the ball and team work. If there is no team work or you dont pass the ball then no points will be scored. The better the team work is in a team the more of a chance you will have of making a point or winning.

  20. Mia Lee,

All the invasion games require us to work with our team mates. In order for us to do this we all need to looking for positioning that will get us open and always be passing. Also, we need our team mates to score goals because we cannot do it alone.

In all of the invasion games, you have to move around to get open, in order to maintain possession. In basketball, soccer, and ultimate Frisbee, you must continuously move around in order to give your teammates somewhere to pass too. In the invasion games you have to spread out, so you have room to run around and get open, rather than clumping together and having to force a bad pass. In all of the games this will cause you to lose possession.

  22. All of them involve teamwork (offense, defense). And a lot of them involves creating space to score. Also, we have to try to keep possession of the objects (football, frisbee, basketball) in order to score.

All of the games we've played require the ball/frisbee to be passed along. All of the games help us practice maintaining possession and scoring a goal. They also all require us to work as a team.

Based on the invasion games, similarities in the different sports all consist of teamwork, strategy, defense, and maintaining possession. In order to win, it was necessary to work out a team and learn how to best score points.

the invasion games are similar because they all require moving up the field, and teamwork is neccessary to move up the field while maintaining posession and finally scoring

  26. based on the invasion games the similaritys were we have to do teamwork to win the games like passing the ball, frisbee, football, soccerball.and in ultimate frisbee you have to pass the frisbee because you can only take 3 steps.

  27. Max Katz truely stated....

Based on the invasion game that we have played, some similarities included keeping posession of the ball or disc (in offical frisbee terms). Also, in all of these games the main goal was to score points as well as keeping the ball in your team's hands.

  28. The similarities between all the invasion games we played were that in order to succeed you needed to invade the other team's side of the field or court. We needed to do this to try to get the other team to turn the ball or frisbee over so our team could score.

  29. Katie Perroots:
The invasion games we have played all require a defense and offense, where the defense can play man-to-man or zones. The offense has to try to maintain possesion over the ball or frisbee, which requires the whole team to work together in passing and running.

  30. Based on the different invasion games, the similarities between games we played are teamworks, because they required you to work on team to get the points, not working by yourself.

I believe that the similarities are that possession is a key. If you never get possession how are you supposed to score. Another similiarities is talking to one another. Let your teamates know you are open and where you are.

In all of these invasion games, a few shared concepts include possession of the ball/frisbee, having a planned form of defense, and working as a team on offense.

I have determined that the invasion games we have learned about in this past unit all require teamwork and planning. By planning i mean that our teammates could not just walk or run around and expect things to work out. We all had to figure out things to do to win, and how to do them. Other than that, these sports all involve some type of maintaining possession of an object to score points against the opposing team.
